I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but it seemed like the wheels came off towards the end. I thought they would move around a bit more and for better players too. Stevenson is a great press corner with size, but has major question marks in zone coverage. Also not targeting any edge rushers especially in later rounds ( Horton, McGuire in 4th or Morris, Hampton in the 5th ) is going to hurt them. RJ & Tyler Scott are good weapons but a luxury especially considering how crowded those groups are already. The rest seemed like wasted picks.

I liked them selecting Wright and them double-dipping on DT, but IDK, beyond that it didn't seem like a well executed plan. And a shame considering we had the 1st overall pick. I want them to hit on these players, but I fear this regime over-prioritizes measureables above game tape.

B. No edge rushers. To be fair, the bigger names were gone by the time we picked in the 2nd.

I probably would've taken tuli when they took dexter and taken him with one of the next 2 picks as I think he'd have been around at 64. I do like dexter though. Overall I thought it was a decent draft. Thought his first 4 picks on day 3 targeted quality players who probably see the field year 1. Weren't necessarily needs but built up depth. Hopefully they can grab someone like ngakoue or clowney in FA to bring a little more pass rush. Run defense should be pretty stout.

I really like the wright pick.

Idk what to think of the DL he picked. If one of them develop into a starter plus then it will be a great draft.

If they both end up as pure rotation guys then this will end up as a massive flop.

He also traded up to get a CB and watched all the edge rushers go. Team had way too many holes to fix in one year … seems like he is setting up for JJ to potentially walk. Team has tons of holes and cap space, no need to be filling holes that aren’t there yet when there are a number of issues all over.

Solid B

Wright and Stevenson are day 1 starters
Johnson is going to start sooner or later and is a great fit in the offense
I think Scott has a lot of potential and could see some success year 1, although not enough balls to go around for major production

I’m not that high on the Dexter pick. Definitely my least favorite pick in the draft but I understand it.

Overall, it’s a rock solid draft.
Im similar. Solid B. Im a little more optimistic with Dexter because athletically he's a beast and im buying the koolaid that he wasnt used to attack the gap in college. (zero stance). I think there is a decent chance that they get more out of him and he can adjust/improve.

Tuli is a bit of a risk. Played at 290 and is actually better suited to 3T but then slimmed all the way 266 but didnt do a lot of the workouts. Not sure if he is gung ho about being an edge but no idea why he dropped all that weight.

B- for me. It was a safe draft that made the Bears better but I don’t think really moved the needle much. Sometimes that is what you do though. Poles had to weigh out playing it safe with marginal improvements vs going for greatness but the risk of busting out. He chose safe, which is fine but won’t be an A+ grade.

Thing with A+ draft grades though, it can easily turn into F production. B- likely stays that way long term. Hope that makes sense.

Ha! Too early to tell if it's Riley Ridley or Daniel Braverman vibes. There was another guy - I can't remember his name off hand right now.

Wims.
Mooney does show that it can work. I'm just not getting my hopes up no matter what the hype or preseason shows.

I hope so. It wouldn't surprise me if he really improves and eventually becomes more of a pass rusher, but I'm not drinking the kool-aid just yet. He does have a relatively safe floor though, and the upside is there as well.

I will definitely give poles credit for somehow turning last years WR group into what it is now.

Sure, Mooney and clay pool both don’t have contracts, but it kinda feels like they can’t even throw enough to get everyone touches
