Maybe it is a combination, but I'm guessing the latter

I bet it's not personal reasons, he's just saying that. It was the FIRE and what they did, by waiting so long to pick up the option. By waiting so long they thought yeah he's a good player, but we could find a better player (I hope there gamble works). Thanks great it shows other future players how the FIRE work.

So does FK starting Rolfe or Alex in the CAM spot, I hope that Alex gets it and Rolfe move up to one of the two forward spots that's where he should play.

They said they had actually told him that they would pick it up a month before though.

That's what the FIRE said, but as of June 28th Grazzini didn't, so who's telling the truth.

But, they will keep players that are making 130,000 or 160,000 and don't even play or hardly play. I don't think this has nothing to do with "personal issues", FIRE low balled them and he's pissed. He's not the first player/coach that they did it to and it won't be the last.

Does this significantly hurt our playoff chances?

It all but crushes them, unless Alex is as good as Grazzini but I think that is a major stretch at this point.

What's sad is Alex is justed signed for rest of the year 1/2 contract, so we will lose Grazzini, Pappa, and Alex by years end. In Grazzini's and Pappa's case it could even be before the end of the season.

Really? Crushes them? I think you're being a little pessimistic here. It doesn't help, but by no means is this a major blow to a playoff run.

Who is to say we don't re-sign Alex at the end of the year?

Because he said that he's looking to to sign with a european team after the season. If the FIRE really want him they better try to sign him before the season is over. At the end of the year might be to late and we all know how the FIRE like to low ball players/coaches.

I hope that both Grazzini and Alex are part of this team next year (or the next 5+ years). But somehow they will screw this up and both of them will ge gone at years end.

I just can't see us doing much without our playmaker and best player in Sebastian Grazzini. He won't be easy to replace. I may be pessimistic now, but I think it definitely falls into the major category.

Not good, if you were hoping that Grazzini would return.....

Here's one of the quote that dosen't look good for Grazzini return.....

Guillermo Rivera said 3 days, 9 hours ago

Grazzini's locker has been cleared out and his nameplate has been removed from the locker. I'm sure they could easily replace the nameplate but why take it down if you believe he's coming back at some point when the "personal issues" are resolved.

Frankie you're full of shit I could care less if you're a Chicago legend or not, this team is not going anywhere this year. Way to go Frankie you had the right player in Grazzini to lead this team and just just let him go. The rumor is the team he might be going to is for free (no transfer fee), great so not only is he not coming back we are not going to get anything for him. Who the **** is running this team? If you tranfer a player that's under contract atleast get a tranfer fee.

A report out of Argentina claims Sebastian Grazzini, who is at issue with the Fire has been offered to several clubs in Argentina. A deal for a one year loan, free of charge is mentioned. A deal to Atletico de Rafaela would make Grazzini one of the highest paid players on that club.

The report has yet to be verified.

I've been a season ticket holder for the first 13 years (1998-2010), didn't renew in 2011 and this year because the team looked so horrible in 2010. With the team playing much better this year, they almost hooked me, but the way they treated Grazzini they lost me again. I hope I'm wrong be the rest of the season is going to a very long season (Alot of 0-0 games and 1-0 loses, with some 1-0 wins).
