Not sure if I could give any that wouldn't totally give it away.

He was a Cub more recently than the original Henry Rodriguez? lol

Yep.

The player given away for a pitcher who had been DFA'd and now is in the minors after no other team thought him worth even the $20K waiver fee this year.

Who is also having an equal to slightly better season than the Franchises building block.

Can't win em all I guess, it sucks, but would Marlon Byrd be the big difference in the Cubs sucking or not.

Absolutely not. But that is not the point either.

The point is that he is out producing a player who is supposed to be the difference in the Cubs sucking or not and isn't a factor at all.

Not even the same position, Byrd blew last year, and was suspended at one point, and Rizzo has a hell of a lot more to learn then Byrd does, as you said in my Garza thread, totally ignorant thread.

I think the biggest difference between the two is that I believe we can get more years out of Rizzo sucking it up than Byrd. Now, if that is a difference that some can get behind....then I point to the fact that this team sucks and it's no wonder.

As far as being a difference; we are about 2 Starting Pitchers (1 being a bonafied Ace), 2-3 Bullpen Pitchers (including a dominate Closer), and about 5-6 starters/bench players (mostly starters) short of being a solid contender. Assuming that the 1-3 "building blocks" don't retire before we can acquire them.

Good point.

I guess we have that to look forward to since they just signed him to a 7 year deal.

Yeah I don't believe Rizzo will the best player on a WS contending team. But he's a piece, and it sucks the Cubs took the loss on Byrd. Glad to see him come back though.
