I don't know if this technically counts as a solo, but it's worth 3 minutes of your time. This can bring me to tears on some days. Enjoy:

Found this album at a very critical time of my life when I was young. So happy I did. That song is something you would hear on the climb to heaven. Sad, yet happy. Rejoiceful, yet full of regret.

I love jimmy page but when thinking about what favorite solos of his? I draw a blank. Maybe it's just because he was such a good songwrter? I did like the garnish on ramble on

Mostly I just love his guitar playing. I love it on Still Loving You and Achilles Last Stand. Probably my 2 favorite Zep songs along with No Quarter.

"Floods" by Pantera. Dimebag, dude.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I'm not even a big Pantera fan, I actually like DOWN better. But IMO Darrell was a great guitar player. Not only were his solos legit, I also he was the best at writing quality riffs of his time, in terms of catchiness & intricacy. Walk has to be the best riff I've ever heard in heavy music period. You know what it is, it's catchy, you know how it's going to go, but it's not some corny commercialized, 2 chord whiney pop punk rock wannabe garbage, & it was very well written. Pantera were masters at creating a huge fan base with little to no radio play or commercial attention, & in 1994 even managed to top the music charts over everyone, including Michael Jackson.

Kottke is awesome. I missed him recently when he was in Chicago, I found out the night he was playing.

And... Starts at 1:19... Preston is an amazing guitarist/soloist. Picks up steam at 1:55... If you can find the Studio version, which again is him solo... freaking amazing, the record quality here is suspect.
