2017 was a pretty weak NFL draft when you look back at it.

My favorite part is when people shit on the floyd pick but he was by far the best player at his position at that spot.

By far? Nah. Ngakoue is better and Ogbah is pretty comparable.

He was drafted to be a double digit sack guy, and the DC found a better use for him.
Not Floyds fault but Ryan Pace sold the Bear fans a bill of goods with Floyd being a pass rushing OLB, something he never was in college. Floyd was a very good all -around LB at Georgia who had 17 sacks in his career there, by contrast Josh Allen of Kentucky had 17 in 2018 alone.

I have always thought any draft pick, no matter what round, that can be a full time starter is a a good pick. Obviously this is not how Ryan Pace thought and wanted Von miller numbers so we let him walk. Floyd will never be that all pro star but he is a good player. I for one am glad he is getting his chance to win a superbowl. Ryan pace - this is your life

yeah right screw him and Aaron Donald, missed him by 1 pick

Go Bungles!! Got that HOF QB on a rookie contract, zero top free agents coming up. Steelers died. They’re here to stay.

He is a former Bear so I will root for him. Go Leonard.

Either you or someone else has made this statement before and it sounds dumber every single time it's said. Floyd had 3 sacks his final season with the Bears. 3! Von Miller numbers? Von Miller has had multiple seasons where he had multiple games where he got 3 sacks.

Floyd wasn't even Trevis Gipson.
Maybe they had him drop back in coverage too much? Either way 20 sacks last 2 season. Solid player.

I'm not happy for any ex-Bears winning rings. I placed a death curse on the Panthers 6 years ago because Jared Allen got cut from the Bears mid-season and just happened to land on their team that went to the Super Bowl. also Peyton Manning's John Elway-esque retirement performance and matching his mouthbreathing brother in Super Bowl wins was essential to me.

Floyd was a decent player when he played in Chicago. He just didn’t get the sack numbers we’ve been conditioned to believe are all that matters. I know they drafted him as a pass rusher so in a sense that was his job. It’s more nuanced than that though. Like has been mentioned 100 times as well, he played in coverage a lot.

Didn’t LA give him like 10 million a year? It’s not like he sucked in Chicago and got some minimum deal and resurrected his career. You don’t give scrubs 10 million a year.

That whole thing put Chicago in a tough place. They didn’t want to give him that 5th year option at such a steep price when he really didn’t deserve it. But at the same time he was a decent player. The system in place for first round contracts is what screwed the Beras there.

Leonard Floyd just fell down a lot when "pass rushing" for the Bears.

Floyd was one of the better players available when the Bear's picked. Pace did well to select him and also made the right decision to let him walk. He cost more than what he produced and we were able to reallocate the money towards the Bears single season sack record holder, Robert Quinn
