But you don’t draft a #2 WR at #9 overall.
So has CCS decided that he’s a #2 WR now? I guess that’s better than TE #3.
But you don’t draft a #2 WR at #9 overall.
He and MHJ have almost identical stats. MHJ is the Cards number one WR and target 1b to McBride. If you paid no attention to his college career, you might have been disappointed. The pre & post draft hype machine for Odunze made him something he is not. I am glad he is a Bear, he has played about how I expected. I never saw him as a No. 1 receiver but a solid 2 or three.
Yeah DJ would be the number 1So has CCS decided that he’s a #2 WR now? I guess that’s better than TE #3.
When you have DJ Moore as the #1 guy you do. Can’t wait to see what a legit OC can do with him.But you don’t draft a #2 WR at #9 overall.
No, you still want him to be considered a #1 WR even if the team already has a #1 WR. He’s just one of those that needs a little more seasoningWhen you have DJ Moore as the #1 guy you do. Can’t wait to see what a legit OC can do with him.
I could care less if he is #1 or #2 if both he and Moore are putting up 1000 yard seasons. But they drafted Odunze based on talent, not whether he will be a #1 wr or not.No, you still want him to be considered a #1 WR even if the team already has a #1 WR. This. I think he’ll work out. Just wanted a bigger impact right off the bat, that’s allThe hope with odunze is he can take over for Moore when it’s time to extend him. This team usually goes into long droughts with skill position players. If he works out wr won’t be a liability in the future like past bears teams
Expected the entire offense to have a bigger impact lolThis. I think he’ll work out. Just wanted a bigger impact right off the bat, that’s all
That was my thought, as the pre draft insanity was going on. Watching the prefessional sports media and social media push players push players up and down the draft boards is just eye candy, that fans should really ignore. Odunze is fast, but not real fast, he can run routes better than most, but his footwork still needs work. But, he is game, has a wide catch radiu,s and I see him as being coachable, so I do he see him being a starter wide receiver for at least 4 years. Could we have traded the No. 9 pick and still got a similar receiver, maybe. But clearly trading that pick could have improved our lines which has proven to be a bigger deal. But, he is a Bear, and he should be a good part of our pass attack. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! But you don’t draft a #2 WR at #9 overall.
When I see a player on the Bears draft radar, the first thing I do is look at their highlight reel. Odunze's reel included mostly 50/50 balls which Odunze won. So, I looked more and realized he was a good athlete and really good college receiver but probably not an NFL No. 1 wideout. I have a bias about speed, a really fast receiver can get open anytime, and scares the shit our out cornerbacks and especially safeties. For instance, I was intrigued by Malik Nabers who was ranked ahead of Odunze on most draft boards. His highlight reel showed him just literally running away from defenders, in the SEC. That kind of raaw speed has real value in the NFL. He is the only bright spot on the worst offense in the NFL right now, with (97 receptions, 969 yds, and 4 TDs. Odunze has 51 receptions, 701 yards and 3 TD's. Both receivers are clearly already solid pros in the NFL. But, Nabers has been up and down during his first season, most observers think that is a function of the woeful Giants offense. Which is now being run by third stringers at QB. To me Rome has not lived up to the top ten draft hype, but he is a much better than average rookie wideout. Nabers has shown some real electricity on the field. as well as some just completely unforced drops. I don't think either player has lived up to the hype, Nabers does seem to have a better chance of being a true No. 1 wide receiver. I am still glad Odunze is a Bear.He and MHJ have almost identical stats. MHJ is the Cards number one WR and target 1b to McBride.
Caleb and Odunze have left a ton of yards and 3 or 4 TDs out there too. Most of that is on Caleb. Right now he’s the third option behind DJ and Allen.
I watched him a lot his last two years at Washington. He was universally considered a top 10-15 pick almost everywhere.
What exactly did you see at Washington that suggested that the hype “made him something he is not?”
This should be good.
I have no idea why he is being used the way he is. It’s baffling.looks to me like bad bad Thomas Brown, biggest moron in the whole damn town has decided to turn DJ Moore in to a RB2
Which I 100% get but the only thing lacking right now are his TD numbers.This. I think he’ll work out. Just wanted a bigger impact right off the bat, that’s all
He’s a big possession receiver. How the bears had the picks they had and decided to get two skill players from the dipstick pac 12 is almost beyond me. Except it’s the bears soIt’s still his rookie year but considering his bad hands, half-assed blocking and comically bad route running, has Odunze been a disappointment as a rookie?
I watched the games not highlight reels.
