Sox fans can say the same things about the Cubs.

Yeah, the loser mentality of many Cubs fans is the only real thing I dislike about the Cubs. It's a shit franchise where losing isn't only tolerated, it's embraced and considered a badge of honor.

This is coming from a Hawks fan who was in attendance during all the lean years. I understand liking a team and even more than that- liking a sport so much that despite the product that your team puts out, you still enjoy backing a loser. But everytime the Hawks got smacked down by the Red Wings and everytime we had to watch the Wings lift the cup, I never once actually believed that Detroit actually sucked and I never thought that the Hawks were entitled to anything. I hated the Wings, but it was really only because of the Hawks' own shortcomings.

It could just be my bad luck, but I almost never encounter humble, realistic Cubs fans. By all means- cheer for a loser. But have a sense of humor about it. Your team is a running punch line.

may have been a cheap shot, but any man worth his pair would have retaliated. And Barrett did it after that doucher train tracked him... Do i think Barrett is in the right no its a part of the game. But if that was me getting sucker punched i would have gone ballistic. But that ****** just was like "why did ya hit me micheal" looking for his teammates to back him up.

I know there are some absolute douchebag cub fans... To be honest i prolly hate more Cubs fans then i do white sox fans. When I go to Wrigley and see some of these idiots i can see why Sox fans hate most Cubs fans. We have a couple of these morons posting on the site.

To be fair, this mentality has largely changed over the last decade or so...Yeah you've still got the drunk frat boys that inhabit the bleachers and the suits that take clientele to games...but that's every franchise. It's amplified more due to everyone seeing the Cubs on TV in the 60s and 70s...but we're slowly growing out of the phase.

That being said, I can see how someone who is not a fan of the franchise would still assimilate those feelings towards the Cubbies.

There will be no more pissing contests between SOX VS CUBS from now on. If you are a Sox fan, you are welcome to post specific thoughts about the Cubs without (Flaming,Trolling,Baiting ETC) and the same goes for Cub fans going into the White Sox forum. You want to argue about stats and players in a respectful way, fine. But the BS comments have to stop or threads will get closed, posts will be deleted, and bans will be handed out. Very simple guys.

Thanks,

Staff

Cut the shit boys.

If you don't have anything good to say beyond a mildly joking fashion. Doesn't need to be said.

That's not baiting.

He said that many Cubs fans are like that, which is true. He didn't say all or refer to anybody here.

Its not necessarily "baiting" but its getting close..

Sure I completely agree that the Cubs have some dumb fans.. but so does every team in the league. It should be widely known and expected.

but to say this..

By all means- cheer for a loser.

Thats pushing it.. Sure I have a sense of humor about it pretty much all the time..

I don't really say bad things about the Sox as a franchise just because I can't stand some of their fans.. same goes for the Cardinals and Brewers and pretty much any other team.

I think the main problem here is that both teams have fans that just say whatever the **** they want whether its right or wrong.. Then other fans are placed as the same thing.

Like this..

It could just be my bad luck, but I almost never encounter humble, realistic Cubs fans.

In my experience all I know are smart Cub fans.. The people that Ive grown up around know whats going on.. A small minority of the Sox fans that Ive grown up with know whats going on.. A vast majority of them that I personally know either jumped on in 2005 or just hate the Cubs for some random reason without logic or being able to say why.

So realistically its who ya know and what you experience.

---

For me personally I was one of the Cub fans that was happy as hell when the Sox won. Ive said that to plenty of Sox fans that I know whether it be on here or in my personal life.

I can't stand the people that want to just be dickheads without remorse.. and most of the time its bandwagoners that do it.

Going into a Cubs forum and saying the Cubs are a shit franchise most certainly is baiting.

Except he didn't say they were a shit franchise. he said that it seems that some fans embrace all the losing we have had since 1908.

Except he is right in a sense. Historically, we were professional baseball's first true powerhouse since the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings, and then we went a century without winning. I mean, we haven't been the Yankees or anything.

Shut the **** up. Please. It's baiting. You don't go into a Bears bar and say that they suck, even if they do suck.
