Can you read? Like really? Do you know the meaning of "IF?"

I know this. Doesn't change that it's baiting and this whole thread is stupid.

In the context you used, "if" would be the equivalent of "though" because of something called "Subject-verb agreement" that changes the meaning of a sentence.

"Even if they do" in the predicate is the same as "Even though they do" at the beginning of a sentence. "Even if they were to" in the predicate would be the same as "Even if they do" before the predicate.

But, of course, this thread isn't about grammar.

And the thread isn't really that stupid, as the rivalry has definitely died down, to an extent, in the past few years.

Cut the shit boys.

If you don't have anything good to say beyond a mildly joking fashion. Doesn't need to be said.

That's not baiting.

He said that many Cubs fans are like that, which is true. He didn't say all or refer to anybody here.

Its not necessarily "baiting" but its getting close..

Sure I completely agree that the Cubs have some dumb fans.. but so does every team in the league. It should be widely known and expected.

but to say this..

Thats pushing it.. Sure I have a sense of humor about it pretty much all the time..

I don't really say bad things about the Sox as a franchise just because I can't stand some of their fans.. same goes for the Cardinals and Brewers and pretty much any other team.

I think the main problem here is that both teams have fans that just say whatever the **** they want whether its right or wrong.. Then other fans are placed as the same thing.

Like this..

In my experience all I know are smart Cub fans.. The people that Ive grown up around know whats going on.. A small minority of the Sox fans that Ive grown up with know whats going on.. A vast majority of them that I personally know either jumped on in 2005 or just hate the Cubs for some random reason without logic or being able to say why.

So realistically its who ya know and what you experience.

---

For me personally I was one of the Cub fans that was happy as hell when the Sox won. Ive said that to plenty of Sox fans that I know whether it be on here or in my personal life.

I can't stand the people that want to just be dickheads without remorse.. and most of the time its bandwagoners that do it.

Going into a Cubs forum and saying the Cubs are a shit franchise most certainly is baiting.

Except he didn't say they were a shit franchise. he said that it seems that some fans embrace all the losing we have had since 1908.

Really? I mean, really?

Except he is right in a sense. Historically, we were professional baseball's first true powerhouse since the 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings, and then we went a century without winning. I mean, we haven't been the Yankees or anything.

Shut the **** up. Please. It's baiting. You don't go into a Bears bar and say that they suck, even if they do suck.

You really think the Bears suck?

:obama:

Cmon CO.. Grow a pair.

We haven't won in century.

Well at least you admitted you need to grow a pair.
:doorrofl:

In summary, these three believe the rivalry between the Sox and Cubs exists only in the minds of the fans, and even that thought is fleeting.

If the only thing coming out of this discussion is that CO admits he needs to grow a pair.

Worthy discussion

Not dead to me...I love the rivalry! I've never been to a Cubs-Sox game but hopefully someday.

My very first cubs game i ever went to was cubs v sox, it was awesome and d lee came in and hit a pinch hit grandslam. You have to go to one if you get the chance, the atmosphere is incredible and if you sit by cool sox fans can be some fun shit talking. I want to go see a cubs v sox in the cell just to go to the cell never been to the ballpark.
