15 goals, 7 of which came on the PP, not bad on a shitty Oilers team.

I think having Potulny around is going to help Leddy adjust to life in the pros. Potulny is a former gopher (Much to my dismay, but different topic for a different thread) and Ryan's brother Grant is an assistant at Minnesota. Having someone he is already familiar with on the team in Rockford could really ease the transition for him.

I actually disagree. I like the Pisani siging with the "if he stays healthy" scenerio. But he is no Andrew Ladd. Ladd won't be replaced. I'm telling you he will be the one body that is missed this season.

Im just not as confident as everyone else that Ladd is that easily replaceable. The other guys we lost... maybe Ladd...no. Other than Toews I don't there was another FORWARD on the team that came out to compete as hard as Ladd did game in and game out. And that's not a knock on the other guys like Kane, Brouwer, Eager, Buff, etc etc. Thise guys certainly put the effort in every game (Buff is a question mark) but they seemed to be easily distracted and frustrated at times. Didn't see that from Ladd very often. Guy played hard nose 2 way hockey and seemed pretty damn focused every shift.

Really think Ladd is underestimated by some. I think the hole will be felt. And that's not to discredit the rest of the roster. I still love it and have high expectations for the team and players.

I disagree with your disagreement. I think you may be underestimating Pisani's 2 way game - he was on a very good shut down line with Peca and Torres when they went to the Cup. He's very good on the PK and may be a bit quicker than Ladd.

Health is the biggest/only concern with him...

His back problems are the biggest concern. Will he play more than 20 games?

I believe good teams and contract years give players incentive to work harder to stay healthy and to work harder in rehab if they are hurt. Look at Havlat and Khabibulin. Plus Pisani needs to prove he can stay healthy to stay in this league so I have to believe he'll do everything in his power to stay healthy

I know him from his college days and Fernando's a good guy. With his work ethic/attitude, etc...he'll play hard for pride - nothing to do with a contract.

Hi back and coilitis are the only concerns

From Jan 5th until the end of last season....he missed 4gms total...flu (1), undisclosed(1), and groin (2)

I don't agree on Khabi or Havlat, at least during their contract year here.

Havlat was finally healthy, and Khabi finally had a good team in front of him. It was just ironic they were in Contract Years IMO.

I disagree with your disagreement of TCD's disagreement....since I agree with TCD. Ladd will be very tough to replace...

Hopefully with him only signing a 1yr with Atlanta, he'll be wearing the Indian Head by the TDL...

Mean while he's the hardest of all the Hawks gone to replace on the ice.

Contract years in all major sports are incentive to produce. Been that way since the 2 year contract was invented. You've seen players on piss poor teams and career years during a contract season.

As long as we don't have to give Jeremy Morin back to ATL in the trade. :D

Maybe the Wild will pick him up with Harding out for the year with torn ACL/MCL.

Doesn't surprise me on the send downs. Hopefully we'll see a more seasoned Lalonde sometime later in the year.

Considering the cap situation, that would be bad for the 'Hawks if someone did claim him.

Yea. Lalonde does not look that bad. He just needs time. And quite frankly there is no need for the 'Hawks to rush him at this time.

No it wouldn't. Waivers on the way down the other team assumes the salary 100%. Waivers on the way back would be 1/2. They are not recalling him, rather sending him down. Would save the Hawks a little over 12 mil if someone took him right now.

Exactly. Just judging from last night the game seems a little too quick for him on the defensive side. Not entirely surprising since he's only played, what, 10 pro games?
