Do not want Cole or Leino. We need a second line center, a 4th line center and a grinding winger on the 4th line. That is it.

Morin needs the chance to skate the 2nd line. Overpaying on a 2nd line winger is going to hurt the club. If Morin fails then give Ben Smith a crack.

Are there any 2nd line centers left?

As much as I like him on the wing, I'm pretty sure Sharp is going to be the 2nd line center again next season. I don't see anyone on the FA market that's a better option than him (assuming Brad Richards isn't being sought).

I wouldn't mind giving Morin/Smith time on the 2nd line, but I'd much rather have players who've proven they can score at the NHL level.

If sharp does take 2nd line center duties we need a solid winger. Im not sold on morin or smith on the 2nd line.

I do love Sharp on the wing, that Toews/Kane/Sharp line's dominance for about a month was the biggest reason why the Hawks squeaked into the playoffs.

But we also won a Cup with Sharp at center.

Chris Drury isn't the answer.

you are right. but neither is talbot and some of these other replacement esque player. depending on what happens from now until the first game, I can see the hawks rolling out the same team as last year with just a few names replacing others on the roster.

2011 NHL Free Agency Profile: Tim Connolly - Defending Big D

Tim Connolly is the guy I would like as our 2nd line center.

He has injury concerns, but a real playmaker in the middle of Hoss and Morin or Smith would be great. And if he gets hurt then Sharpie can slide into the center role.

But Sharp NEEDS to be skating with Toews and Kane, as we all saw that is a punishing line and takes over games.

for the 4th line he is the best answer. A proven WINNER, a guy who kills penalties and has a little scoring left in the tank.

I never once said he should be the second line center.

Nice find with Connolly. Doing some research, and he seems like he could be a pretty good solution.

But those injuries are REALLY scary. Especially the concussions.

Kane on defense? Or is Evander Kane a FA or something?

I'll repeat that Q, with, EVANDER KANE on defense? ewww, no keep him in Winnipeg. Clearly means Keith.

I'd by that roster for a dollar! Although I'm not sold on Drury with the health but in my mind replace him with a cheap dowel or something and I'd take it.

We would also have Kruger in Rockford for a quick fix at Center
