Hawks get D-man Campoli for Potulny and picks

You are not going to get anyone better, for as cheap, at either center or d without giving up a roster player.

Correct. And there were some of what they were looking available but Stan had clearly said he was not willing to trade a roster player. And by that I mean a roster player other teams were asking for. Which probably means not Scott, Stahlberg, ect ect..

The team is playing very well right now. Without changes. Why rock the boat? You are now going for depth, which is exactly what they did with Campoli. Ironic Hendry went out for the year or not, it gives depth in that Cullimore does not have to be recalled until the playoffs and black Aces come up. Assuming we get that far.

I don't see how anyone could have a problem with this move other than just to *****.

Agree. Scott was useless on D last night (all 4+ minutes of him), and the fight was just ridiculous since the guy barely grazed Soupy. I think Scott just needed to sharpen his "skills" since he hadn't fought in awhile....

Completely disagree. That was a great move by Scott. He clearly meant to run Campbell into the boards, Campbell just happened to move. I'm pretty sure every member of this team would disagree with you.

Wasn't it @ this time last year that Cambell broke his clavicle getting run on the boards.

Great response from Scott. Loved it.

Little different situation but yes, it was this time of year. He clearly heard the whistle and chose to run Campbell anyway. Good response I agree.

I think the Versus announcers mentioned the Ovi hit right after the fight.

The refs gave "the guy" an additional two minutes for running Campbell, Scott got an additional two for instigation.

And if Scott didnt do anything...the same people would be bitching that he didnt fight him

The fact Soupy was even pissed - shows that he felt it was unwarranted

No... Staubitz MISSED a big hit after the whistle on an icing call. As you should know you don't hit someone on an icing call.

John Scott did what he was brought here to do which was protect the team and he did.

Ask RK after the game tomorrow and I bet that locker room and Campbell loved that he did that. Oh well as long as the team that he plays for likes him, I guess your nonsensical hatred for the guy doesn't really matter.

EDIT: DOH! Didn't see RK already replied.

Clean hit or not, I'm amazed someone--Brouwer, Bickell, even Dowell didn't challenge Doan for his hit on Hendry. I think it's a big reason why we left points for Phoenix and none for Minny.

In other news...now that Skille is gone....is Jackoff Jaeckel now going to turn his attention to Leddy? Wanting Cullimore here over him??

I do not believe, should the Hawks make the playoffs, you will see Nick Leddy playing 20 minutes a game, in spite of the love affair some in the blogosphere are having with him. Leddy was victimized again last night on the Wild's first goal. At 20 years of age, he is a very promising prospect. But there is a difference between that and a proven veteran—even a retread like Cullimore. Veterans make mistakes, too. It's just that the odds are lower.

Bickell doesnt do that nearly enough. I wonder how many more goals Bickell would have if he went to the net like Kopecky does. For as big of a body as he is - all his goals are from outside the faceoff circles it seems.

I kind of disagree mostly because that was a clean hit. If you watch real close Hendry's knee goes directly into the board. To me that was a fluke. There was no intent by Doan to knock him out of the game let alone for the rest of the season. He was just checking the guy with the puck.

Maybe Jaeckel the dumb ass should ask Scotty Bowman his opinion on Leddy. Blogosphere? Last I checked Scotty didn't blog.

Check out Mrs. Campoli... My my....

Huh?

That was regarding the above.

Thought Scott played a perfect game on defense. He touched the puck about four times and did not turn it over. He did not give up any chances that I saw. Yeah he played limited time but I think he did exactly what the coaches asked him to do. Oh, yeah and got in some beat down practice.
