Just got the season ticket invoice in the mail today.

Are they trying to price out the real fans?

Raising this shit in this economy? They're already high enough as is.

Hawks sell out every game no shit they are going to raise the price. If they didn't they truly would be idiots.

I may go to my first Hawks game next year Hockey is pretty fun to watch live. But the Indiana Ice is dirt cheap I may just stick going to see them :smug2:

When games weren't on tv and I could get in for $8, I'd go to 10-25 games a year.

Now that every game is broadcast in HD and I pay an average $70 for a good 300 level ticket, I go to 3-5 games a year.

If you don't like the price, don't pay it.

dumbest complaint in sports are ticket prices. they can make the tickets 1000.00 for 300 level and if people show up than they will continue to raise the prices. Its the fans choice whether or not to go and there are enough dumb people out there that will pay premium for seats. The only issue I would ever have is if they trimmed payroll and put arnasons and mark bells out there as the product, you could say people wont show up like the past, but that may not happen now that the fans and new geneneration of fans have a hard on for hockey.

At the end of the day it is a business just like the restaurant down the street. bottom line bottom line is all that matters.

either way, dumb complaint thread.

And what is amazing is that the Blackhawks basically supply their website for you to scalp your tickets at a premium price. The Blackhawks Ticket Exchange is a thing of beauty if you want to sell your season tickets for games that you can't make.

Don't the Blackhawks have something like 8,000 people on the waiting list for season tickets? So if 500 people all of a sudden can't afford the ticket increases, I am sure there are easily another 500 who are ready and willing to.

My complaint is that they sell out every game, have increased the ticket prices, AND are nearly 4 mil under the cap (6%) under the cap. But the reality is that the ticket prices make going to a game not worth it for us. For the price of going to the game and getting a couple 300 level seats, my wife and I could go out to eat 4 times or go to the movies 8 times. It's just not worth the hassle and the cost to go to a game. But I'm not blaming the Hawks for raising their prices. Supply and demand! Just max the payroll!

When you win a Stanley Cup, you can raise your ticket prices. The Blackhawks can get away with it. A team like the Blue Jackets, not so much :buttrock::blackhawks::isee:

I'm unsure what your point is here. You realize there's like 9 mil Wirtz is spending on a couple of guys to stay the hell away from the Hawks, right? In addition, aren't the only two guys earning under their cap hit Kane and Toews (by 300k each)--everyone else is either earning their hit or earning more?

I'm no Rocky apologist, but the guy is spending.

My point is pretty clear. They are roughly 4 million dollars under the cap and that is unacceptable. I am fully aware of Huet and Olesz being on the payroll but that is their own fault. Maybe they should have been more concerned with making good hockey decisions rather than making a splash in signing Huet and Campbell. Nonetheless, they should have kept Campbell if they weren't going to put the money back into this team.

I know that Rocky is spending but this is a major market. Act like it.

Ok

But this point has nothing to do with ticket prices.
