The Secret Service would not allow it during the playoffs so I seriously doubt they would allow it now.

I'm skipping that game if it happens. What a logistical nightmare.

I'll put some money on that one, you'll be at the game if it happens.

YOU MISS A PLAY OFF GAME ? Get real.

Reinsdorf is the owner. I know he is'nt the sole owner but one of the Sox owners. Was the Sox team president at his side?

I would'nt think twice about it if Rocky were there without the Grinch.

Sure, but you were stating that this should be about the players. Just pointing out that that these things will always include more than the players. I know there is no love for McD, but really what he did is not too out of the ordinary. Heck after some research when the Bulls and the Sox both visited the White House in 2009 you can see Foreman, Paxton, Williams and such very prominately in the picutres and videos. The Bulls even brought their broadcasters in 2009. And with the Bulls 6 Championships Krause was more pominant. Regardless as to if we like it or not, team visits almost always seem to be the team management before the players.

The Secret Service does not give the "Go/No Go" on where or when POTUS does anything. The team gives a Security Assesment to the POTUS and his cronies, and HE has final say so.

Are you going to the game tomorrow?

No. I'm not in DC anymore. When I retired from the Navy, we moved to Alabama to be closer to her family. I'm about 2 hours west of Atlanta now.

I would be if we were still there, wearing my Indianhead gear loudly and proudly.

While you are technically correct, they could not garuntee security so it was a no go.

Again, they make an assesment of the situation, it goes through the chain of cronies that he has working for him, the final decision is his. Period. Simply put, the SS guys do not tell him Sorry sir, you can't do that because we can't guarantee your safety 100%. If that was the case, he would never leave the WH.

Gotcha.

There were to many SS questions and holes, which is why he said "no" the first time. Is that better.

I have a cousin in the SS so I'm actually a little aware of how it works.

I just didnt want it thought that SS had the pull to tell the POTUS or anyone else they get detailed to protect who/what/where or when.

I have several good friends in the SS as well as several kids that used to work for me in WHCA. Also one of my former Chiefs who later went on to become an LDO, then continued to work there as a civilian just left/retired from there (within the last 3 months).

Some of the stories I could tell you about what goes on inside that place, wrt how the 1st families really are.

For a second I had forgotten what this thread was about and thought your cousin was Himmler.
