There are two ways to look at this. First, they play Tampa, in Tampa, on Wednesday. The Caps game isn't until Sunday. Now, when you consider that, had this whole White House thing not been arranged, they may have been spending more time in Florida, I'm OK with this. The last thing we want is any kind of bad mojo rubbing off on this team from the teams down there. Right?

What this does do, however, is take a lot of time out of what would normally be a nice three day rest for the Hawks. Instead of arriving on Saturday, they will likely have to arrive there on Thursday. I don't know their itinerary though, so who knows. I assume they will likely spend the night in Tampa Wednesday, and then fly out to Washington on Thursday.

Still ridiculously poor timing though. This should have been done right after the cup win. You know, so there would be more than twelve guys there?

Unless my eyes were deceiving me, I think I spied Cristobal Huet aka Pepe Le Pew at the White House along with Brent Sopel. Good to see Sarge with this group but I wish it was in a more permanent role but why the hell did Frenchie fly in from Switzerland for this

Because whether you like it or not, he's a member of the Stanley Cup team.

Everyone was invited. Sopel and Huet were the only two that came.

I suspect Sopel will be back with the Hawks next year for the league minimum or close. Would surprise me if he wasn't.

Tallon wasn't invited... big surprise.

This is basically what I said in a nut shell. They did spend the night in Tampa and flew out in the morning.

It's a great honor, in September when the ENTIRE team could have been there.

I would love to see him talk about the Hawks without someone else writing a speech for him. No chance he knew Quenneville was the coach before reading it off his notes.

Bolland's face didn't move the entire time. Classic.

Obama is a huge sports fan. I have no doubt he watched the Hawks win the cup. He called Kane the day of the parade and he had a bet with the Vice President who was from Delaware and is a big Flyers fan.

Very true, but you get my point. He claims he's a Sox fan yet he calls U.S. Cellular Field "Cominsky Field". I'll cut him some slack, he has other problems to deal with.

As a "life long Sox fan" that he states he is... I'm pretty sure he had some time when he was younger to figure out the name of his favorite's team's stadium. Obviously a fake baseball fan to come off as "cool".

He wasn't living in the US when he was younger...he's from another country...remember?

Yes definitely a fake baseball fan, he chose the Sox because his present permanent residents is the South side...typical politician!

note: They will get enough rest Friday night and Saturday night! And if they chose not...shame on them!
