Brouwer put up career points with Kane and Toews last year. Then by moving Sharp to play wing will allow him to focus more on offense than defense. Either way it will be fine, but Frolik will be better with Hossa and Sharp, and Brouwers play fits well with Toews and Kane.I'm just looking at it in terms of needing Sharp's goal scoring. He played with Toews and Kane last night and quickly broke out of his short slump. Brouwer has been solid, but I think we are in dire need of new blood on the 4th line and IMO, Kopecky seems to play better there. Not saying this is permanent of course, but I am REALLY curious to see how Frolik does in the circle more consistently.

I loved Skille. When I saw him with the Icehogs I was just blown away by his speed and slapshot.
Good luck in Florida Jack!
You don't bring in a center to make a winger expendable. If anything you just thinned out the winger depth by dealing one - so Stalberg may end up being *less* expendable without some further move (naturally not counting one that might, hypothetically, include Viktor).
To: Those who do not think this is a big move
a consistent 20 goal scorer his first 2 seasons in the nhl, 8 goals this year on very very bad florida teams. he will probably be our 2nd line center which we need. oh and he is young. he has done alot more at a younger age than skille or the great stalberg.

Hope to see him turn out well and possibly give us a reason to move Toivonen off the books.
We can hope, but how he's been shuffled around in Fla doesn't appear so. He, like Skille, has been demoted to the 4th line at times this season. Also, it appears he's taken a total of 12 faceoffs all year and won 5 (according to NHL.com) with zero wins on the road. Actually, we might need hope considering the talent depth of Florida...
That's incorrect. Sharp's goal came on the PP, so you cannot attribute it to being with Toews and Kane. While I do like seeing the three of them together, I think I prefer having Brouwer's physicality with them a little more. Sharp is good enough and does not need Toews and Kane to score.
Having Toivonen on the books isn't important to me, as he's getting paid his AHL salary. It's pushing him further down the depth chart that sounds better to me.
ben smith has nothing on stalbergs beast mode.
