Anybody have video of Dach running Reinhart. Lol
I would have liked to see Dach get rewarded with some PP time. Maybe next game!
Yeah, instead of Shaw
Less than 40SA! Someone stop the press!
Seriously, good job boys!

Hawks have points in 7 of the last 8 games. and a total of 13 of a possible 16 points.
JC's boy wants to be the only one to run his system and brown nose but that caught him in between decisions.Good call. Should have been a shut-out too, had De Haan not shat himself. What in the hell was he thinking? All he needed to do was chip it out or just shield it out of the zone, he had the entire boards open. He looked like an utter rookie on that play.
Anyways, I was glad the Hawks didn't give up the 40 mark in shots against. If they can get it to 30 and below, I'll be a happy camper.
Colorado fell way off from their start but still Makar vs Hawks defensive speed scares the shit out of me.Yes and another way to look at it: they've taken points in every game in the month of November but one.
The next 6 games are huge, especially the 2 home/home series against Colorado and Dallas.
Dallas gets behind a hot Bishop and just fucks everyone. 8-1-1 last 10, but we can double team Bishop in that one with Lehnar/Crow being just a slight drop off, but a fair fight and he has to play both to match us.
Kevin Weeks did a 'Top 5 Goalie Tandem' list last night, and I was very disappointed that he didn't include the Hawks. Bishop and Khudobin were on it though!
I just did a quick-and-dirty crunching of the numbers for the average shots against per game for the league in the cap era up through last season (not yet including this season). It's about 30.31 SA/GP. It's only been the past 4 years (2015-16 through last season) that the 'hawks have been above that number--and only the past 3 significantly. Naturally, 2010 and 2013 have been our best seasons in shot suppression--and the results are evidentGood call. Should have been a shut-out too, had De Haan not shat himself. Right now we're sitting on this season as an average of 37.1 SA. That's bad.

do we have an idea of "how bad" 37.1 is?I just did a quick-and-dirty crunching of the numbers for the average shots against per game for the league in the cap era up through last season (not yet including this season). 1. Are we talking wake up in a Cambodian opium house somewhere in the underbelly of Vegas after a blackout night and try to play the Golden Knights bad? (how many shots does Vegas average on home ice per game?)
2. Are we talking post Gretsky Edmonton bad?
Is 37.1 historically bad or a bad team defense near the bottom of league?
Taking into account around the league increase with pace of play and 3vs3 overtimes...maybe even historically bad doesn't quite mean what it seems.
So is JC a puppet coach now? Does he have a role? Gameday line tactician, matchup analyst? This is kinda like a young player situation, who isn't good enough to get playing time in NHL but the press box stunts their growth.
Can you send JC back to Rockford to season up a few more years? lol.
If this fails Stan needs to finally take the axe. No more protection. The decision to keep a coach and not let them coach would not pass the smell test if their is a train wreck.
Its a unique situation though with a veteran team and then some green players that probably do take to his coaching. But to tell the young kids to throw everything out you taught them is ....
no words. Maybe our best shot is to stick with continuity, let the vets run the Q way on offense and tweak the defense under JC's supervision. ???
I'm just gonna back off about it but its a very weird situation. Its a weird team too, so that might fit. This is the last gasp of the dynasty. I have a feeling a new coach, maybe new GM...next time we make a major change this thing is going to get blowed the **** up to the extreme.
Another thing to consider is this: do you remember last year when the Hawks looked decent and it coincided with Kane absolutely tearing it up offensively (as he's doing now)? I hope I'm wrong, but this feels similar now; I'm almost waiting for the team to dry up offensively (just like they did last year) if Kane can't carry the load. That isn't to downplay the recent contributions of the 2nd line as a whole in particular, but Kane is the straw that stirs the drink on this team -- if he has a cold streak and the offense as a whole dries up, it will get ugly, considering where this team stands defensively.
