Hawks vs Unintentionally Tanking IGT (Rest of the year)

I just can't decide if this is a slide that is irrecoverable or if they can rebound at all.

If Keith could rebound and play like a #2 and we find him a #1.... and if Seabs could at least fucking rebound and play like a 4, maybe a borderline 3... we could patch together a decent defensive core.

But when our top 2 D men play like borderline 6s.... and make 12M.... there is little you can do there.

Same with Toews at 10.5M as our 1C and Captain.... he is maybe playing like a 3C on his best nights this year... 3C/4C players can't make 10.5M.

All 3 of them need major rebounds or we're fukt.

Seabs and Keith are old and not Hossa, so I am not looking at them and thinking they will bounce back much. D will be an issue for awhile...hoping Jokiharju projects out. He reminds me of a Leddy that can actually play D. He's already a great PPQB and can hit a 4x6 from the blueline.

Will do! I usually do run into him at games, but haven't been to one in several years though.

It as very cool to see. The chanting of his name was a lot louder than it sounded on TV (just watched replay of the game).
Was in the 13th row, and no RK sighting. I even went out in the smoking area and didn't see him.
Side note: We got there a bit late and parked in a Red Top lot about two blocks away. $24 to park, and every guy working there hit us up for money/tips. Traffic was bad and I had to pee so me and my wife stopped at a porta-pottie in the parking lot. When my wife was in there, a homeless guy came up and said he lived in that bathroom. He then showed me his blanket (in a shopping cart) and his "luggage", which was a cardboard box. I thanked him for the hospitality. All true.

IT was cool to give him a star to talk to the chick, but they should have shared it with Delia, he had an outstanding night.

The one game I wanted to avoid with the seabrook circle jerk, then watching him just make mistake after mistake and get beat to the net. He actually threw a puck at the players that were making a change on the ice that should have been a too many men penalty because it hit a few of them. Dont know how we are going to deal with 6 more years of this Seazivol.

Yep. Keith made his best defensive play all year (and one of the few), doubles his goal total, and for the first time all year doesn't look like Deron Quint stole his jersey.

Credit where credit is due--he looked like the D-responsible Keith of old.

End of the season gives me a glimmer of hope that they can turn things around next year.

That Winnipeg game where they swarmed on defense for most of the 3rd period to protect Scott Foster... I need to see that kinda game from them next year, consistently.... and I need to see them do that for 3 periods, not just part of 1 or 2 periods.

News today both Bowman and Q are safe for next year. As Panarin puts his name in the all time record books for Columbus, I really want him to prove he is a playoff player.
