That's kind of my point - HHM likes to get snide with me just because it is me, but even if McCarthy's style is en vogue right now, the NFL will eventually pivot again, and a system like what Monken and Johnson run tends to be more balanced between risk and conservative, rather than just plan conservative, which is something that will allow for a better state of permanence of excellence rather than McCarthy, who might find the game has changed on him again in a couple more years.
Honestly, the thing that balances that out for me is Caleb Williams himself. If McCarthy and Williams can find a middle ground, they will find themselves at that balance, I think.
Honestly, when it comes down to it, the one real negative I have on McCarthy is the whole teaching the QBs not to throw over the middle thing - sure you can win games like that, but you are going to lose the bigger games when the difference between you and the other team is that you were trying not to make a mistake, while the other team took a risk and reaped a huge reward.
