Sweetness. In an age where mostly everything is digital, its nice to here analog being powered by an all vacuum tube driven head. The saturation can not be matched.

We wanted to record analog too, but we couldn't afford the tape.

And since people were putting their favorite metal, here's mine, since I know you all care so much!

Soilwork from Helsingborg, Sweden.

I wanna shameless plug too! This is my band IllDistortion. We had a recording studio back in college, but our douchebag drummer stole everything when he left. Our guitarist was the singer/screamer then. We were playing about 3 shows a week then. After college, we all had our own careers and it was tough to get together. We then got a female singer. We only practice about once a month now, but we are going to start recording again and doing shows. These songs were all recorded in our basement. They all are mixed terribly, so it is not a good representation, but whatever. IDGAF. And LOL @ myspace. We used to have a nice website, but when we stopped playing shows, we let it die.

EDIT: Sorry to derail the thread for your band Heidenlarm! But I bought the album so...

Ahaha yeah myspace! Now that you're getting it back up and running you might want to update that. We're in the same boat practice-wise.

Yeah. We had a graphic designer in the band at one point, so we had a nice page at illdistortion.com. We really shouldnt have gotten rid of it.

It gets harder and harder to get together for practice as you get older. Ugh.

Naming a favorite metal band is hard. I'll go with the metal band I've been listening to the most currently, so it's bound to change very soon anyway.

It's good to have one of those in the band. Our other guitarist handles that kinda stuff. I'm terrible at it! That's what I'm learning. We haven't practiced in a couple of weeks and the aforementioned guitarist just bought his first house so they're getting that ready and moving and what not so it'll be a while until the next one. I'm itching to play a show too.

Yeah, one of our guitarists has two kids and lives an hour away. The other travels for work. Our drummer is normally around but he just got married and bought a house. My wife (the singer) is around, but I travel all the time for work too. It is rare that we are all there at the same time. But when we play through the songs, we usually look at each other and say "huh. That was pretty damn good. We should play often" and then it will be a month before we get together again.

Yep, that sounds just like us. Everyone keeps moving further and further away. I'm the last one left in Chicago. Actually our vocalist lives in Colorado!

No shit! That must make it really hard! I mean at least with the modern joys of technology, you can record a world apart, but I bet it hard writing.

Older stuff is the only stuff worth spinning!

Yeah buddy. I've latley been into the Italian underground scene. For my money the produce some of the best metal on the planet (but its not for everyone). There are literally dozens of extremely talented bands over there.

I won't highjack your thread by going on about it, but this album is killer and the first two tracks are incredible. Its like Hour Of Penance and Vital Remains had a spawn, and that spawn had a brother like Aborted.

He moved out there a few years ago, just makes it hard playing shows really. The album was written before he had moved out, plus he's not really that involved in the writing process. I wish I could remember what part of Colorado he moved to.

Hijack away! I don't mind at all, it's good to talk about metal anyway.

Not very often. Last show was back in March, err April I don't quite remember, opening for Kayo Dot at Reggie's.
