Have anyone notice that the officiating has been brutal. Everytime Derrick Rose or John the fish Salmons goes to the basket they get hacked their is a no foul called. Like on Sunday against the Raptors. Derrick Rose in overtime went to the basket made the shot but no foul was called. When Chris Bosh went to the basket on the next play they called a foul quickly but their was less contact on the play which was a three point play.

Even last night against the Pacers down the stretch Derrick Rose drove to the basket got slapped on the Hand by T.J. Ford which caused him to lose the ball but they called nothing. The refs seem to miss alot of calls last night when the bulls players were driving towards the basket. Also they missed a traveling call on Danny Granger late in the game but the refs called a foul instead.

Have anybody else notice that ?:eek:hmy:

Yes, it's been pretty awful. I have not seen anyone get more shafted than Rose. I have seen other rookies and other players and I have been watching for a long time but for whatever reason Rose just can't get any calls - like 1 out 5 or 7.

Then again, when you have a coach like Vinny who just sits on his ass and don't complain to protect his players or GM (that used to send out the tapes of bad officiating against us) don't do anything.

I agree, the non call when Ford basically just reached in and grabbed a whole ton of Derrick's arm to get the ball, and then they didn't even call the ball out on Ford, but gave them the ball too.

That one call at the end of the game may have changed the outcome, and it was a horrible, horrible call.

Rose has definitely suffered the most.

Rose was probably fouled like more than 5 times or even more but they just freaking don't blow the whistle. I have seen Westbrook/Gordon/Mayo and other rooks go there a LOT LESS than Rose and they get their fair share of fouls - not saying they get all the calls but it's more like 1 out of 3 hacks, if not 2. While for Rose, it's more like 1 out of 5 or 7 hacks and even then they might not call.

Has Rose ever attempted 10 free throws in 1 game? While Gordon/Westbrook/Mayo all have and out of all those Rose goes inside the most.

Hey Doug

How many games do you think we lost due to bad officiating ? I think about four games.

I don't know, it's hard to say.

I think the thing is refs make bad calls for us too, and we just ignore those. I'm not sure that the officiating has really been against us by that much of a degree on the whole.

There are specific players (Rose) and specific games where a bad call hurts, but it doesn't mean there wasn't a bad call for us earlier in that game or something else.

How many games have we lost due to bad officiating ? Do you feel that the opponents are receiving the benefit of calls.

Palo, how many games have we lost that were decided by only a couple of points?

Now I ask you. How many times a game do the refs swallow the whistle on Rose when he draws contact?

We're going to win a lot more games next year assuming the refs start giving Rose the calls he deserves.

Hehe, didn't like the first answer, so goading me into a second one? ;)

I think there are games where officiating hurt us, but officiating is what it is. There are games where we've gotten big benefits of the whistle, but no one remembers them or those calls. You just feel good about them.

I think we've probably been hurt more than we've been helped, but I don't think we can use it as an excuse, instead we need to argue and fight to get the calls.

I think Rose's coach and teammates need to speak up on his behalf. And Pax too. Rose is clearly not very aritculate, even if he complained to the refs I'm not sure how much they'd listen. If Aaron Gray or someone got in the ref's face and got a T because he was upset about a call on Rose, the refs would be intimidated into being more fair.

I work as a ref part time. The guys who I have worked with who also work in the NBA are amazing. This includes the ref who called that end of the game foul on Rose in Charlotte. :( They make mistakes like anybody else but their rate of good calls to bad is really good believe it or not. They do the best they can.

In my experience I tend to favor guys who are honest instead of guys who complain about every call. I will give the quieter/nicer guys breaks and I look to whistle guys who are jerks. Not saying all refs work this way but I do.

Re: BHP Film School

Would anyone like to be extras in one of our films?

We're shooting in Downers Grove, Naperville, and Aurora on June 13-14.

Let me know. We need dead bodies, and doctor-look-a-likes.

Well, I am now accepted into the MFA program. I have my MS certification-- and my thesis proposal:

Charity

I've begun the fundraising campaign, so now my first bit of shooting will be MLK weekend.

Cool thing is Beyond the Basement Door will be done at the end of the month, and The Drone will be done in January.
