How the Bears get Von Miller

You could get four really good players for that kind of money and completely fill out our defense. I am not sure I would pay Miller that much. I would almost prefer the Broncos kept the two of them and let some of their other pieces slide into free agency.

We could potentially get an edge rusher an inside backer a safety and a CB for that kind of money that were all starting caliber players.

Windy, you rarely come up with these crazy threads. I'm assuming you are still drunk on turkey and bourbon from this past Thursday.

Anyway, I think your contract is about right, but that's not going to be the part that makes this a no go. Von will get that deal with the Broncos or get franchised.

When it comes to Osweiler we are 2 games into the evaluation and a lot can happen. He can continue to play well and if that's the case they will be cutting Peyton and freeing up $19M in cap space. As teams have some tape to go off of and he comes down to earth either he won't be worth franchising or his long term contract will be more affordable (like a Nick Foles type deal).

Either way, I highly, highly doubt Von is available. He's an absolute known game changer and those guys rarely hit the market. This reminds me so much of Justin Houston last year. I was one of those people that thought there's a chance he becomes a FA when logically looking back on it that was never going to happen.

It's too bad we won't be able to draft Joey Bosa. This guy might end up better than JJ Watt.

Von Miller is friends with Aldon Smith, who should be available pretty cheap in weak 10 of next season to play a few games and be a free agent. Could you imagine sliding McPhee into DE on long situations and going

Smith McPhee Goldman ego miller?

**** me and the league what we could do with the Dline depth and rotations with Jenkins, Houston and others thrown in as well.

I love the word 'might'. You can virtually get away with saying anything crazy by adding 'might' before it.

Personally I think Joey Bosa might go crazy and go on a gun shooting spree in a factory filled with adorable puppies and kittens.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. The word might holds a lot of weight. I might take a dump that weighs equal to my body weight today.

You broke the game. Fail. You won't do that. We can all promise you. But I do think Bosa is more likely to go on a killing spree than be better than JJ Watt

their current cap situation, 20 mill in cap space currently. Cutting ware and manning will give them an additional 28mill and then take away 5mill for the draft leaving the broncos with 43mill in cap space. The soon to be high priority free agent list - miller, osweiler, trevathan and then a decision between jackson or wolfe...

imo elway will offer osweiler something like a 3yr 45 mill deal with 21 guaranteed. This gives him a chance to earn a monster paycheck while still in his prime if his play gets even better. Osweiler seems like the guy who wants to win and be in a good situation rather than looking for the highest bidder(browns, 49ers). If elway can land osweiler with that deal, it likely gets back loaded with a low cap hit in the first year allowing the broncos to tag miller, resign trevathan and resign jackson or wolfe. Obviously that situation would not bode well for the bears but I dont think the broncos tag osweiler. He has been solid at best, if he really starts coming on then it'll be a different story but for now hes decent.

Osweiler will sign with the Denver Elways. Miller will get franchised, which opens us to take Wolfe and Trevathan. We can draft a player similar to Miller, like we should have done this year, and let Fangio mold him.

Who was it again that we should have drafted in the mold of Miller this year? I forgot his name, but I'd like to start following the career of this future All Pro.

Really just pick any of the OLB/DEs expected to go in the first round and he might develop into Miller...

Or he might go on a killing spree...

Woah, easy there fella. Similar as in skillset, not Elite Allpro passrushing status. Millers going to get a Peppers like contract for his 14 sacks a year. Pace isn't giving that.

I have watched a lot of Ohio State this year and Bosa is fucking unstoppable. He is every bit the player that Watt was at Wisconsin. So when I say "might" I mean probable.

I've seen and heard that he's more Ryan Kerrigan than JJ Watt. Both good players none the less.

You got to understand when you drop 'JJ Watt' people think of someone that can have numerous 20 sack seasons in their first 5 years in the league. The way most read that is you said 'Bosa will probably be the best defensive player in the entire NFL', which is just a crazy thing to say about any prospect.

My bet is the the OZ doesn't make it to the end of the season without an injury. The guy looks like he is pretty breakable and in the cold games in Denver I think they end up going back to Peyton due to injury to OZ.

Just to be clear, are we calling him 'the OZ' or 'the the OZ'? I'm not really good with nick names, but want to get ahead of this one before is blows up.

Give me Malik Jackson, Danny Trevathan, and Trumaine Johnson instead than just Von Miller in FA. Then, in the draft, give me Reggie Ragland in the 1st and Noah Spence in the 2nd.
