No, I didn't argue the name should be changed at all. I was suggesting they ask for a formal vote from tribal leaders to legitimize the use of a Tribal Chiefs name by a sports team, hoping they said, "yes."

So a good idea I saw implemented with success in my neighborhood was looking at demographics and requiring businesses operating physically in a 40% black community to hire 40% black workers. To find the best they could, compete for them, train them, promote them, etc.

Change was necessary. Are you getting the best worker most qualified right now at every spot? No, you probably aren't, but change was clearly needed and has to start and the gap will shrink probably quickly.

You completely ignored the point about other historical figures names being used i noticed. Thats the problem with wokeism, its fake virtue signaling, its a form of narcissism, its "look at how virtuous I am" Its a way to show the world how great of a person you are without actually having to do anything other then complain. And most of the time there is no logic behind whatever the flavor of the month cause is being pushed.

There is over 1000 streets named after Martin Luther King, one in Israel and one in Brazil as well, there are restaurants, little league team, schools, even one in Venezuela.. So I don't appreciate being put in that category. This issue may be peripherally related and I can see why a mobbist is reacting spastically.

Change.org has had 2 petitions, one was 8 years ago to just change the logo.. has 200 signatures and another that started 3 years ago and is still active to change the name as well.. that one is up to 300 signatures..

The Blackhawks and the logo are not disrespectful they are honoring him just like how every other historic figure is honored based on their beliefs, what they fought for, etc..

The Blackhawks have already made statements that they are not going to change and after 8 years of petitions only netting a few hundred signatures why would they?
