Hitting plays more in season. Short series both teams are lining up their aces against each other. The stronger staff/ usually will win a series like that.
Short series it has more to do with which team is hot and clutch hitting.

id rather have a balanced offense that is middle of the pack that can play defense with a sick rotation. once you get into october its the rotation, defense and BP that really get you to that level.
