I think some of you are going to be severely disappointed when this team wins 4-5 games down the last 10 game stretch. They'll pick inside of the top 15 but I doubt top 10.

With games against Washington and Tampa and the lions on the schedule there are a few winnable games but we also lost to the lions so I wouldn't say top 10 is out of the question by any means.

The Bears are currently picking 10th

Houston, Cleveland and San Francisco are poorly coached abominations and could seriously look at QB.

Washington is not a good team, will probably beat Washington, and they could draft QB.

As it stands now the Bears will more than likely not be able to draft a top QB.

What does J.Cutler being with us and starting for us next year have to do with if we'd draft a QB in the draft?? I'd love to draft a QB and have him sit behind Cutler for a year or two.

I guarantee that the Bears will not draft a QB in the first round.

Jay Cutler will be a Bear and will start the 2016 season. As long as Fox and Gase are here, I am ok with it because they have shown they can manage his bonehead throws.
I was looking at Cutler's contact last night and thought that it is very possible he is our starting QB for another 3 years. After 2016 the cap hit to cut is 2 mill in 2017 and 1 mill in 2018 and while that is a good time to move on, he will make an average of 17 mill per year. Before folks flip out that that is way to much to pay him it actually puts him in the 15-20 range of qb contacts. I'm not suggesting we should keep him but if he keeps playing well under Gase, it's very possible he's here for another 3 years.

With that in mind, how likely does Pace use one of his upcoming picks on a QB? If Cutler is here for 3 more years, that would leave next year's rookie QB with a year or two starting before we have to pay him what he's worth. If Pace waits a year or two, depending on Cutler's success, it would still give time to groom the QB yet have him still playing under his rookie contract for possibly 3 years as a starter.

A lot of "what if's" but i think the situation Pace is in might give us time before drafting Cutler's replacement. I'm starting to think that finding a future replacement for Cutler might not be a priority in this up coming draft.

Also, Cutler is still under contract in years 2019 & 2020 where his cap hit is 20-22 mill. I doubt he ever sees that money but it doesn't mean he doesn't restructure to stay a few more years. So it is possible Cutler is our QB for many more years before we draft his replacement.

Jay has been OK but of those QBs how many have had a bye and missed time due to injury? Kind of brings down the interception numbers.

Cutler's interception rate per pass attempt is 2.3. That ranks around 12th in the league per minimum 100 attempts.

I don't care what pick we get, as long as we come away with Jalen Ramsey

Not sure if any of the top QBs are elite, worth taking in the first. I wonder if we could still get a decent QB in the 2nd? I think we'll go DEF at 12, probably MLB, or OL, then CB/S in the 2nd, if we don't see a QB slide to us there. Could see us take a shot at a QB later, not sure if there are any "diamonds in the rough" in the later rounds. As we've seen, YOU CAN draft a player in the later rounds, or even find UDFA that can play.

well, thats where we disagree.

but even beyond the first round there could be a player or two in the second or third I would take a chance on, jay is who he is, theres no point in continuing to spin your tires.

The only QB I would take a chance on is Connor Cook and I don't see him dropping to where the Bears are going to be selecting. I would rather draft a guy like Jaylon Smith, Leonard Floyd, Myles Jack or TreDavious White in the first. I am all for draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round though. Take a shot at a guy like Jacoby Brissett or Paxton lynch. Maybe even Gunner Kiel.

So you honestly think the Bears will lose only 3 games?

Yeah. The Bears have gone toe to toe with every team besides Seattle without 6. I truly believe the talent is there and a week off with Rolle coming back is huge. Dare I say it, but when shea gets back, I expect a more organized defense.

I can see this team making it. They're not the Browns or 49ers. The Bears actually good.

Nice post. I agree. This coaching staff is too good to let this BS happen. I can't believe actual fans are wishing for the #1 pick after 6 games. Just fuckin ridiculous, imo. I mean why would anyone even be a fan of a team and hope they lose? It's just so spineless!!!

You're asking the biggest meat head on the board. Of course he does.

Seems the Bronocs are figuring it out.

Build the defense and add offensive FAs. I know it's time to move from Cutler but why reach in the draft?!?

Do you think they could have bought Manning if he didn't have that huge black cloud hanging over his head? FA only takes you so far.

too bad.. if chicago drafted him he would have lost a shin or something.. would be sitting pretty though.. forte could walk... hell if they would have taken cooks the year prior too.. Alshon, Wilson, Cooks (slot)... perhaps Marshall too... wit some Gurley.. Offense would be set for nearly a decade minus a QB according to most. You could have completey turned jay into a game manager play action guy though...

Gurley will only get healthier and better too... its a shame the Rams line is shat at the moment. BUT i got to atleast beast with gurley on the bears in madden... it cost me Alshon and Forte....
