Looks nasty. All you Texas folks, stay safe. Anyone who has been to Houston knows that they can't handle that amount of rain. Going to be some serious flooding.
Houston will be a fucking mess with all that rain. My in-laws are in for a fun week. We were nice and offered them to come up to DFW but they're staying there.
FEMA Still being run by Obama era people so at least Trump wont **** you guys.

If you remain after being ordered to evacuate write your name with permanent marker on your arm so you can be identified. #Harvey #txwx

Can't wait to see how bad it will or wont be.
Cool thing about Ike...our neighborhoods power was out for like 2 weeks. At first, everyone stayed to themselves like usually, but soon everyone started coming and hanging outside. By the time it was over, driving through the neighborhood was like driving through a village. Everyone was out and about, especially in cul-de-sacs.
Our last big power failure was three straight days in July a couple years ago. It was the first and only time I've ever met or talked to certain neighbors.
I rented the last generator at Home Depot today.

Why don't you own one?
Being in the military and moving so much I never needed one to be honest. Weight of your household goods is also a factor with every move, not to mention space in a rental house. We moved to San Antonio in late 2011 and bought a decent sized house because I knew it was my last assignment. I now have the space for one I guess and could buy one when they get back in stock... the city is fresh out of generators now.
