Canes were rested Hawks were on 3rd game in 4 days, but the difference in speed and hustle is what determined it. Canes are a good team, so not to upset with the loss. Hawks need more team speed, but I hope to see Dach more with Kaner

I guess for me the bigger question is, rested aside. was it a team that looked like 4 out of 7 times they win, of is that a team that 4 out of 7 times they lose. Going into it I would have said 3 out of three times they win, but then like was said, last night you saw some things revert to where I don't think they win a series against carolina right now.

And the only real reason I care is becuase we're back to those preseason threads or early season threads where we were talkign about Stan throwing hailmary's at the trade deadline to show how smart he is and try to save his job. The number one thing the hawks can't afford this year is mediocre enough. They either need to be really good and validate everyone who is doing everything, or really bad and get the deadweight finally out of the house. They can't be just good enough to keep folks around who are trying to pretend hockey.

Can't rely on the refs to call a penalty in the last minute when most players mailed it in the first 52 minutes.

Yeah, BSPN -- that's the last place one should ever go for anything hockey related, just a friendly warning. Ever since Buccigross and Melrose left, there is no one at BSPN that is knowledgeable. TSN (i.e. Mackenzie, Dreger, etc.) is probably the best and NHL.com is the obvious choice (if I'm looking up size stats, I'll usually go to eliteprospects to compare to NHL.com). Capfriendly is also decent for salary/contract info. -- not as good as Capgeek used to be, but better than nothing.

Cozens is the much skinnier man in the end. Dach has the better frame, imo. When I look at Cozens I had all the fears some seem to have with Dach. Cozens is going to take a beating in this league.

I think you are correct that right now would be a good time to freeze the roster talent at least and take power from Stan as this plays out.

Don't bleed anymore future for this until Seabs/Crow/Smith/Shaw/Keith ballooned contracts come off the books.

If they could find some other face off wins I am very open to trading Toews and his meatless diet somewhere else. We are probably a year late and should have moved Toews after his bounce back season, we are having a hard time with acceptance around here. The game has taken a toll on Keith/Toews.

I just think the old guys need some time management. Murphy looks like a superstar out there compared to the rest of the defenders. Maybe it would even come down to one guy getting the crow games and one guy getting the lehnar games since they are both deserving of equal time.
I think that is where the experienced coach like Crawford of Babcock would get them to realize its for the best of the team. Does that mean Cuckoo plays (sorry nickname police, I just think he deserves this) or Bovquist, or should we get Beaudin up for a looksie. He is at least a plus 2, with 4 assists and gets a shot to the next every game. Carlson is at least a plus 2 with 2 goals and 2 assists and finds a way to get two pucks to the net every game. It was surprising we got Holm thru waivers, he is pretty much killing it with 3 goals 7 assists and a whopping plus 5. You almost feel he is staying down there in case there is a long term injury to Keith, DeHaan or Maata since he has to clear waivers to go back. But what is the point, if you rotate them, you keep the old legs fresh and hopefully get consistent play.
