I Fear Gase Getting a HC job and taking Fangio

well, its up to the team isnt it? you might not want to force someone to stick around who clearly doesnt want to. also all someone would have to do is offer him the dc job with an AHC title attached.

We can block in the same way. It's been done.

That's generally done by the team keeping the coach to end requests which can often be denied.

not if you already have a AHC still in place. it would be a dick move to strip it from him just to hand it to another guy. sure, theres work arounds both ways, I was just pointing out that its a way a team can hire someone without it being blocked as a lateral move. Its how Kromer got the bears O-line coach gig.

That title doesn't mean anything, and hasn't since like 2008 or perhaps even earlier. There is no difference in actual coach changes with it. Even if you have a lowly nickleback coach if he gets a DC job, you have to approve him getting the chance to take the job.

It's not how Kromer go the Oline gig.. he was hired as the OC, unless you mean in Buffalo which makes no sense cause he was fired. Sean Payton allowed him to be interviewed. Because often unless it's a rival team, a coach will let a guy move to a promoting role like that.

There is literally no way Fangio can be hired, as anything coaching related, from the Bears staff but as a Head Coach without the Bears willfully allowing it to happen.

Happens all the time.

You bump his pay a little if he is really upset about it.

I doubt he would leave anyway, his stability in Chicago is really strong.

Kromer was the OC and actually did those chores even if the big guy put in the O and called the plays. We actually had an OL coach in Pat Meyer. Yes, I'm sure he got help from Kromer as well but he did the day to day with the Oline.

WTF with the 'if you already have an AHC?' Do we? Gee wiz, what if the team that wants him already has one? Dick moves all over the place.

Gase had the niners job, but he turned it down when they wouldn't let him make Fangio the DC. So he brought fangio along with him to chicago. I'm sure Gase will have more opportunities to be HC, and I don't see why fangio would stay with this talent deficient defense. I'm sure Fox will be able to get other talented coordinators, but Gase and fangio are the cream of the crop.

Except it's a lateral move for which the bears could deny the right to talk to him.

im sure the AHC title comes with a bigger pay check. and if it didnt mean anything teams wouldnt use it as a lateral move loophole. oh, and youre right, it was joe D that made the lateral move but with the AHC title attached. though the cowboys might simply been happy to get rid of him. lol

and what?
