I predict Starlin Castro goes on a tear once the trade deadline passes!

I sometimes think some athletes intentionally tank to make themselves less attractive in trade talks once rumors become strong. It wouldn't surprise me at all if all of a sudden Castro finds his stroke.

Players that tank to make themselves less attractive are LOSERS.

This is bizarre. What do you base this on?

So he was tanking all season just so he wouldn't get traded? SMH. That said, I think he can find his stroke.

Actually there was, according to the agents in the following car. After he is traded, who cares. He will never be a power hitter and his glove and thinking process are just not there and never will be.

Clever of him to start in May rather than wait until July.

How about we go all crazy on theories? Let's try....Castro and Rizzo haven't hit worth a crap when Lester starts because they have penis envy about the new big dog sherif in town and subconsciously want to see him fail so their reign doesn't end?

Unfortunately I think Castro is broken. True, his OBP probably won't be this bad in the future. But he's had like 6 managers and God knows how many hitting coaches and quite frankly I think it's ruined him.

Once the dead line passes and Baez is called up, I expect Castro to get benched and see limited action. Count on Russell moving to SS and Baez getting the bulk of playing time at 2B. If Baez's plate disciple and swing are improved, he could be nasty. I'm hesitant to give him up -- especially with Castro being so horrible.

There were too many rumors to believe they didn't shop him, but likely they just couldn't get the value they were looking for. It wouldn't surprise (or sadden) me at all to see him dealt during the off-season.

He's been trade bait for 2 years now- no one wants him... maybe because he is tanking? his tanking is natural. no doubt the "talks" are affecting his game and attitude but he isn't diving on purpose. IMO- would be nice to see him go on a hitting tear though and send some runners home

Starlin Castro is going to go on a tear and make "fans" remember why they were on his bandwagon.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if the talks got to him. The majority of issues that have plagued Castro are mental

Maybe now he will settle in, time to prove your worth

Maddon said he was having trouble getting Castro to buy in months ago. shame no team wanted him. Baez and Castro fro any pitcher that wasn't a rental was a good deal IMO
