I think the Bears are going to fire Ryan Poles

For me, there’s no reason to promote Cunningham. He’s part of the same regime, the same braintrust.

The only way Cunningham might make sense is if behind the scenes, Cunningham is always like, “I don’t know, Ryan. That move seems like ass.”
Considering Ian and poles are thick as thieves and poles has shown he listens to him, Ian is very likely on board with the majority of these decisions.

I think the logic behind firing him as laid out in the OP is solid. I won’t cry if he is fired. I was 100% in favor of the Flus firing.

I just find it amazing that all the people who claimed we had so much talent a month ago now say it’s the worst roster in the league.

No reason to be against it if he does, but how do we know whether Agnew has an eye for talent?
Educated guess, which I guess is all we would have to go on for any GM candidate.

He’s a former player, is in his 4th season with DET as assistant GM under Brad Holmes, and apparently has had say in their roster construction.

I think DET has done a masterful job at turning things around over the last few years. Maybe some of that mastery has rubbed off on him?

He will be back. Watch and see. He gets 1 more year to get it right.

He gets a failing grade for Oline and HC. The HC pick of Flus may be been on George and Polian tho - that takes him off the hook for that blunder. Oline is where I blame him most. If he gets the HC pick right and upgrades the Oline (like everyone expects him to) this team should contend for the playoffs next year.

Think about it - last year we were 7 and 10 but Flus cost us at least 4 games if memory serves. If we win those games we end up 11 and 6 and likely playoff bound.

This year? The wheels just came off after the Washington loss. I think, at a point, this team simply had enough of Flus and just quit.

Also, people underestimate the mess that Pace left him. He did not have much to work with when he got here - lack of draft capital/cap was a mess/lack of money to bring in big time talent. Most of the pieces are now here. Considering where we were, I think he gets 1 more year to pull it all together.

I feel like this would piss me off if the bears could still piss me off

Buddy personally put together this roster, and shit staff, then blames them when it all falls apart. No Waldron, no Eberflus, but his roster being ass... Nah, not going to take responsibility for that.

His contract expires after the GB game. Let him and Ian hit the bricks.

Poles deserves to be fired. The Bears’ trenches are pathetic. Can’t stop the run nor run the ball.

If the Bears are really in on Ben Johnson then I really hope they try to bring in John Dorsey from the Lions FO too.

Dorsey has drafted alot of good players in Cleveland and KC and I bet that would help sway Johnsons decision.

John Dorsey and Ben Johnson would be an excellent GM/HC tandem.

I don't want Ryan Poles anywhere near another FA/DRAFT class. No fucking way.

Who knows better what this team needs? Poles, Cunningham and Warren? Or somebody new?

Pudge was a young guy when we hired him. First job in the big seat. You have to give him time to learn and grow. Right when he may have learned those lessons and is ready to make the corrections, you want him fired?

Those are the type of impulsive decisions that losing franchises make.

I got a feeling that I'm not speaking for just myself when I say that I really don't give a flying **** what any player thinks about the GM/COACHING STAFF on a 4 win football team, thats finished well under .500 the last 3 seasons in this regime.

How come when things go well everyone has no problem taking the credit when given yet when things suck, and man they suck, somehow its no ones fault.

I'm sick of hearing people claim that HCs need to handle this younger generation of players differently as if their some kind of stunted outcasts that can't handle dedication and adversity. That's a crock of bullshit. If I was in this younger generation and some fuckin' dope said that to me I want to smack their double chin off them.

These young players are just like any other generation that's grinded their way through DIV 1 college ball and now in the pro level.

These you players will respond just fine to any authoritative HC with a clue and a clear direction to win big.

Whether its the UDFAs on the cut line or the eatablished VETS, this current kush safespace FO environment isn't going to lead any of these players to jackshit.

The **** you talking about? Young guys aren't hired to tank NFL teams. What does he need to learn exactly? This is his team. He destroyed the team and rebuilt it his way and it's worse than when he joined. Historically fucking bad

Watch ya mouth my guy! Pudge was a first timer - everyone knew it. Word is — this was reported to have come directly from the McCaskeys if you have been following this story — word is, George and the boys feel that Pudge has learned and is starting to become his best self. They want to see if that is true.

He will be back.

His moves are getting worse. He's awful. The best move this organization can make in its entire history is to fire this guy.

When you've got a GM who is 14-35, you gotta do everything you can to keep him in the building!
You know this guy really did things his way. He got rid of everyone, accumulated assets and then built his team. This is the end result of Poles team building. It's so bad.
