Defensive-minded...and fits the Chicago Coach Facial Hair requirement...

Not enough swag. I highly doubt he could pull off a kangol hat.

Doesn't mick always bring up that Forte is averaging over 4ypc on 1st downs? You don't think he should be getting the ball more? Or that maybe the offense needs more balance?

I'm assuming you know how averages work right? Do you think he's gaining over 4ypc when teams run blitz? He clearly didn't on that 1st drive vs the Cowboys when they blitzed right where the play was going for -6 to stall that drive. I understand you guys want to see more runs and overall balance but it doesn't make much sense to me to stick with plays that are doomed to fail just for the sake of padding the run attempts to achieve some magic run/pass balance people think will lead to more wins. If that means switching a pass to a run or a run to a pass or a run to a different run whatever, I don't care.

Call me crazy but I'd rather see the QB earn his paycheck and do his fucking job to adjust the offense into plays with a higher chance of success depending on what he sees from the defense. Surely the options are there since we've heard Cutler and every other QB that's played under Trestman talk about how all the answers for whatever the defense throws at them are there for them in his system.

So really who's fault is it here? Manning, Brady, and Rodgers aren't elite players because their coaches call perfect plays every single time. They're great because they have mental mastery over their systems and can put their teams into optimal position to succeed no matter what the original play call was.

Trestman's play calling is half the battle. Cutler also has a responsibility to manage the game on his end at the line as well. You can whine about Trestman's role all you want but Cutler plays a MUCH bigger role in the offensive issues due to his mental failures managing the game at the line. (on top of his physical failures in executing)

Cutler needs to audible out of more bad runs and this offense will be good to go.

He's a hot candidate, but has no HC experience and very little coaching experience outside of NE.

It is impressive that changed his spots. Was an offensive coach and was repurposed as an LB coach is now a successful DC.

That said, I just don't think the complete depth of experience is there and then we have the whole Belicheck Tree that just can't seem to bear fruit outside of NE.

We all love Arians and he's the one that got away, but let's be honest - guys who are in their 60s who wearing kangols are d-bags. In the same bucket as guys in their 60s who wear earrings or have long hair and/or drive Harleys at 15 mph below the speed limit, or even worse, C5 Corvettes with automatic transmissions.

Kangols are the tribal tattoos of the 60s set.

You know those douchebags you see with chin strap beards? They'll be wearing Kangols when they are in their 60s.
