By the way, another big move? Ever heard of Dennis Rodman??? Imagine this forum being around in 1995...how many would have stated "I don't want Dennis Rodman because he is a lockerroom cancer..." and the thing is...HE ACTUALLY WAS! People call Lebron, Melo, Howard locker room cancers...do you have ANY idea how the Spurs felt about Rodman at the time? Again, google team history before making those types of statements.

Rodman was 35 years old when the Bulls got him! You call this a big move? Really?

i dont know why yall are even talking jordan years

the best trade bulls made this generation is the eddy curry deal...and Isiah Thomas was the GM of the knicks then (one of the worst GMs ever) so its not saying much

never no blockbuster deal like getting melo that made us favorites

our last hope is kevin love...but knowing this FO they will drop the ball

So getting Pippen wasn't a big move...trading for Rodman...not a big move...what do YOU call a "big move"?

A big move I call when you get an excising big time player. Not a hot prospect or a veteran.

Lakers got Shaq = Big move = 3 championships
Celtics got KG = Big move = 1 championship
Heat got Shaq = Big move = 1 championship
Heat got Lebron and Bosh = Big moves = 1 championship so far
Knicks got Melo = Big move
Lakers got Howard = Big move

Let's remember that sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make. ie Lakers trading for Howard.....

Let's also keep some perspective. Coming away with Grant and Pip in that draft was an extremely big move, and trading Polynice for Pip was HUGE! Grant was Oakley's replacement, which brought the Bulls a true C for MJ in Cartwright, another big move. This led to championships. When Grant went to the Magic, Rodman replaced him in a controversial acquisition, which turned out to be brilliant! This led to more championships!!!!!

Howard is recovering from a HUGE back surgery. It's like calling not trading Rose now a bad move because he will not be the same player next season. It's absolutely normal for him not to be the same player next season. It's absolutely normal for Howard not to be the same player this season.

Lakers without Howard this season would be the last seed in the West. PERIOD.

But still Howard is the leader in rebounding and defensive rating. So be sure that this will be true after some years:
Lakers got Howard = big move = championship(s)

I say do the trade, save money dont pay the lux tax if we arent going to win this year... Bring in Barg and Carlton... (JL3) and dump him next year and we gt the full MLE if im not mistaken, plus this could work out good. Maybe Barg will blossom with Thibs coaching..

big moves don't have to include big name players...i.e. dallas aquiring tyson chandler, which proved to be the piece that put them over the top.

And big name players that are on the trading block, are usually a HUGE red flag.

Right, kind of like Josh Smith... He's a bit of a headcase and he is looking for that max deal... I know I'm not a gm but I would never give him a Max deal... He settles for jumpshots way to much for a big man...

Yes. Settling for jumpshots is something that a player cannot stop doing with right guidance. But Bargnani may improve his 30% shooting and 5 rebounds per game with a better coach. lmao

Bargs also isnt look for a max contract and isnt a head case. Do I think Barg is the future? Hell No. Do I like the fact by getting him we can offer a full MLE next year and slide Taj into the starting line up yes.
