I was saying last night that other than Mahomes, Burrow, Allen and Lamar -- in a winner take all game, there is not a QB that I would take above JD right now. That's friggen crazy to think about! That means that an argument can be made that JD is arguably a top 5 QB in this game ALREADY! That's insane!

But yes, at the time of the draft, we made the right call in drafting Caleb. NOBODY could see JD doing this, this fast.

Our GM made the right pick — Caleb was viewed as the consensus #1.

That said, I had JD ranked #1 on my draft board…. and after what he has shown, it is hard to argue that he would not be the consensus #1 pick if the draft were held today.

That said, Poles did not have a crystal ball. Nobody knew JD would be this good, this fast. At the time of the draft, Poles made the right choice in picking Caleb #1.
I think while JD is a nice prospect & has played well, his success owes a lot to getting drafted by a somewhat competent organization that had a plan for him to succeed in place. JD would already be broken in 1/2 and mentally scarred for life if he had been on The Bears this past season.

It's a testament to how good of a player CW is for the fact he didn't freakout or get seriously injured playing for the crap show that is The Bears. Poles really did him dirty.

I think JD will have a sophomore slump like Stroud had. Stroud has to prove he can come out of it. If the same thing happens with JD like I think it will, he will have to prove the same thing.

Stroud wasn’t the biggest reason why the Texans made the playoffs this year, unlike last year. But it’s also easy to win the division and go to the playoffs when the other 3 teams in your division all have losing records.

You saw CW’s floor this past season. And that’s with some of the worst coaching I think I’ve ever seen.

He was, and is, the correct pick.
Yeah and his floor fucking sucks.
There's two QBs i would not hesitate to take over him after what we saw.

Based on what we know and have seen TO THIS MOMENT, I don’t know how the answer can be anything other than drafting JD.

We can make all the predictions we want about mobile QBs getting hurt, Williams potentially surpassing JD, JD being in a much better system with better coaches than Williams—But the fact of the matter is, JD has been a MUCH BETTER QB to this point.

With the evidence we have, I’m picking JD. If someone wants to stick with CW based on faith and potential, that’s fine.

As Bears fans, we don’t have a choice, but for the purpose of this thought exercise, I’m going JD.

I try to trade down take Daniels

Second pick trade down and take Jared Verse.

Daniels probably end up in body cast in Chicago.

Why I'm on the coach eating chicken fried steaks from Wal- Mart.

So if you take any of the two you covet so much, put either on last years bears team, and you’ll tell me they perform better?

Say yes and you’re lying to yourself.

Yes and one of them was on a worse team with a worse situation and looked far more competent as a QB.

So there was a worse team then the team that fired their OC mid season. Fired their HC weeks later. Elevated the passing coordinator that never talked to the QB until he was elevated to OC who was then elevated to HC. Who then made the same in game idiot moves as the fired HC. All the while everyone from the guy cleaning toilets at McDonalds to every media person laughing at the bumbling Bears organization. And the QB playing behind a HS line.

Got ya.

Yes but if you want to sit her pretending like there were all of these setbacks because the singular offense had 2 diff play callers, then idk what to tell you. The excuse train for the greatest Qb prospect of all time is always on time :ROFLMAO:

Pretending? Excuses? lol. How about actual facts. Williams, IMO, rose above, what you call excuses, to put up some pretty good stats while playing every down.

I'll back the guy I think is going to be a top QB in this league.

I don’t see any value in this thread. Caleb is the guy we have and we’re not going to assume either guy’s career trajectory just cause of one season.

Jayden has had an amazing season. There’s no denying that. That doesn’t mean we have to pout and cry about getting a do-over and wonder what might’ve happened.
