Has anyone in this thread said the it wasn't *possible* for the Bears to win a Superbowl?
Umm *possible* is like saying I can hit the lottery yeah one in billion, I have given multiple examples that Cutler is better than McMahon and every other Bears QB 1st and foremost. Secondly the claim of being a "different era" implied that in todays NFL you must have a 2:1 INT ratio and pass for 4000+ yards which is garbage based on at least 5 different SB winning QBs that have been very average in recent history.

Jay Cutler can easily match any number that I have seen Eli Manning put up, so why the constant backlash and hatred? Just enjoy the guy because he's the best we've ever had instead of these clowns that do nothing but try to troll every post to fight about how terrible Jay Cutler is. Its like they are jealous of other teams QB instead of being happy we finally have a pretty good guy.

Im not saying he's Tom Brady, but after all the terrible QBs since 1985 people are really bitching and complaining?
That is ridiculous.

What if Tom Brady was on the 85 Pats, we still win?

23 TDs...?

Oh nevermind the era changed again in 2003, I forgot.

You're citing the outlier.

Right, and I guess I didn't know that already...:shifty:

Point is alot of teams win the superbowl with a strong defense, solid running game, and average QB play, please dont make me give you multiple examples again.

2013 Bears..
Strong defense "very most likely check"
Solid Running game "very most likely check"
Can Jay Cutler be equal to McMahon and other average QBs that put up 23 TDs and 20 INTs like Eli or 15TDs and 11INT like McMahon???

"CHECK" and mate with you persistent negativity, all you have being doing is trying to hang on to your little petty little whining ways... Get over it Cutler is the best we have had just embrace the guy and lets enjoy the season like fans that actually support the team instead of waiting for the next interception to piss and moan about.

Which came first, the pissing and moaning or the interception?

The idea that Cutler is "the best we have had" is just as much an indictment of past QBs as it is a praise of Cutler.

Why not just start this thread with a much more general theory, such as Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl, therefore pretty well any QB can, Cutler included?

Or has this all really been you pissing and moaning about how you feel real Bears fans should act?

And no one is arguing that point...excellent work there newbie

2013 Bears..
Strong defense "very most likely check" -very most likely isn't anywhere close to HOF caliber...don't forget new unknown DC
Solid Running game "very most likely check" -very most likely doesn't equate to one of the greatest ever...and like McMahon Forte has durability issues.

The argument has always been McMahon in the era he played in didn't have to be great and with that team average was more than enough...nowadays it is more common to see the team with the top notch QB be the super bowl winning team. Nowadays running the ball and a strong defense aren't a requirement to make it to a Super Bowl. Can a team still do it, of course...but in order to make the playoffs you need that good QB. You need a QB who is efficient and will minimize his turnovers...tell me how has Cutler done in that department. I am not saying the Bears can't win with Cutler and if you weren't a newbie you would know I am fine with Cutler. But in order for the Bears to have a chance at playoff/Super Bowl Cutler needs to be efficient and minimize his mistakes...up until this point that has been questionable.

My suggestion to you is lurk some and learn to pick your battles...once you have gained more knowledge on the sport of football than come back here and play with the big boys.

Based on the "different era" concept we should win by like 100 points, but in reality I think they they score about 17 and the Superbowl Shuffle rules again.

You're citing the outlier.

Its only and "OUTLIER" for Brady, not for teams that win the superbowl. That Patriot team only gave up 15PPG and nobody calls them some once in a generation or lifetime thing like the 85 Bears. The Patriots had a good running game, good defense, and solid not superstar QB play.

Thats not an "outlier" it happens quite often, Cutler can easily play his role and help get this team close to 23-25ppg and this defense is good enough to keep teams in the 15-18PPG range. That is very doable in my opinion and not even unlikely. People just like to ***** and moan.

So basically Cutler durability is the reason you feel he's better. Cause stats prove otherwise. That...and you never watched McMahon play. They are quite similar as it relates to playing style...although I think the team rallied around McMahon better than they do Cutler. And that was with a team divided

Who told you I never watched McMahon Play??? Um I was young but Ive been WATCHING the team since 1984

Next you'll cite Drew Brees 2009 stats or Aaron Rodgers 2010 stats as solid. Or Flaccos 2012 post season performance as "not superstar"

I loved Jim Mcmahon but he passed for 2392 yards threw 15 TDs and 11 INTs with 56.9% completion percentage.
If we could win with that, we can obviously win a championship with Cutler. Jay Cutler is the best QB the Chicago Bears have ever had, so I fail to see how you can love the team and hate the best QB you have ever seen on the team. Its sick to constantly whine and compare him to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, get over it and Love your own team.

Cutler is basically a poor mans Brett Favre who will make bone-head plays and interceptions but he plays with passion and the heart of a gunslinger so just enjoy having a talented QB and now we have a #1 WR to match, and the O-Line looks like its much improved too. Whats with the constant manic depressive self loathing of your own team???

I know I'm really wasting my time because crazy people dont know they are crazy, and assholism is at an alltime high, but some of you "fans" need to take a valium or something and stop whining about Cutler.

I repeat he is the best QB we have EVER had, and I dare anyone to prove otherwise. If you truly HATE the best QB the team has ever had how could you really be a fan of the team, you are more like a critic of the team. Critics shouldn't be constantly arguing with us lowly fans they should be on ESPN/Fox getting paid to give their "expert" opinions.

BEAR DOWN!

First of all why do you keep bringin up HOF this and HOF that other than to keep the weak arguement that the 2013 Bears arent good enough to win???
I don't care if the defense isn't better than 1985 cause they wont have to be, I don't care if Forte isnt better than Payton because he doesn't have to be. You talk (or type) out of both sides of your mouth, one side says I know Teams win all the time with good defense/running/ and average QB... The Special person side of your mouth keeps talking about "they can only do it with HOF Defense and HOF RB"... Smack your self and make up your mind....

Top Notch QB might win 60% of the time, the other 40 is mixed with Eli Manning to Trent Dilfer. Once the Eli Manning and Trent Dilfer win because of a good running game and strong defense suddenly they are "Elite" (see Joe Flacco). Turn off sportscenter and maybe you will stop believing that Jay Cutler is a terrible QB that cant take his team to the SB.

P.S.
Don't take yourself too seriously you are far from out of my league Madden Jr.

All I know is if Erik Kramer were the QB right now, we'd have a fucking dynasty based on 1995

I'm sorry I have to dumb it down for you, I'm not only talking about McMahons 85 season, I mean McMahons career as a Bears QB. I only used the 85 season because that was the year the Bears won the Championship. Umm Rashaan Salaam is not a QB and the Bears sucked most of his career and definitely won no championship.

You fail miserably trying to compare apples to kiwis LOL. I never said Cutler was a HOF QB or McMahon. If your little attempt was to be "snarky" again try again better yet go cheer the broncos or something Lame.

Sid Luckman - HOF QB = Poor man`s Jay Cutler

If McMahon had more heart he would've thrown more TDs
