I voted for 1 win out of 3.

The Angels don't scare me. Aside from 2 pitchers, their pitching really isn't as special as everyone is making it out to be. Santana and Haren are average pitchers this year. Their offense has been hot lately but the thing that makes me believe we will lose this series is the pitchers we are throwing out there. No Peavy, no Sale, no Quintana. Our 3 best pitchers not pitching in this specific series = a lost series, IMO. It sets us up for a great series after the Angels tho :)

Ehhh, can't look at it like that. The Royals give us problems, and the A's to a certain extent although mainly in Oakland... and the Rangers can easily be called overrated as well :)

we're 3-3 against them this year, maybe we can find a way to beat them, I still rather it be them than the Yankees

In their record so far this year, but that's just a silly statement... can't make it until the final standings are posted. What if the Tigers sweep the Rangers?

not really silly when:

Rangers Run differential: is a +80
Tigers Run differential: is a +9

Rangers in BA: 1
Tigers in BA: 2

Rangers in OBP: 2
Tigers in OBP: 5

Rangers ERA: 15
Tigers ERA: 17

Rangers SLG% .447 Rank is 2
Tigers SLG% .418 Rank is 12

Not my point. It depends on when you play a team and you can't say a team is better then another until the season has ended. Lots of teams rise/fall in the last 2 months. Besides, a last place team can sweep a first place team in a 3 game series at any point in the season.

And finally, besides run differential, which an argument can be made is a very overrated stat, both team's stats seem very, very similar.

I think the Rangers are better than the Tigers in a 5 game or 7 game playoff series. But you can't really predict that kind of thing right now. The Tigers starting pitching is better than the Rangers, but the Rangers have a really good bullpen. Rangers offense is better than the Tigers and if Hamilton fixes his problems, the Rangers are probably still better than the Tigers.

I'd take the Rangers, Angels, and Yankees all over the Tigers. But maybe that's biased.

a bit OT, by the looks of TCFs avy and what his sig was and how he loves what the cubs are doing as far as rebuilding, i think we may have a closet cubs fan here :)

My dad was a cubs fan when I was a kid and so was my older brother and I wanted to be like them so I liked the Cubs. But then my dad became a Sox fan and my uncle already had season tickets for the Sox. It was a tough choice, but in the end I did what my dad did. And my older brother followed too. The funny thing is that my younger brother is the only Cubs fan.

  1. Chicago Blackhawks

I don't think the Tigers are really all that good anyway, so I think Rangers are miles better.

Yeah. Their offense is shaky and beyond Verlander the pitching is questionable. The Tigers can beat the Rangers if their offense is hot like it was when they were on the hot streak, but otherwise the Rangers are way better than the Tigers.
