I dont know if it's an overstatement actually, I dont know if there is a stat for games won single handedly (and I dont feel like checking, but I'm sure Youk has won us three games single handedly since he came over, and he almost helped us steal this one. The rookie pitchers have been tremendous and you can't and shouldn't understate them, but we've had Nate Jones and Quintana all year, and if we were good enough with just the rookie pitchers Kenny wouldn't have traded for veteran arms at the deadline. (Myers & Liriano) Not saying you wrong, just think our offense had a completely different dynamic without Youk.

The issue is you have no idea in the games Youkie wins single handedly that someone else on the team wouldn't have. You can't assume we lose those games missing Youkie. 3b has not been the major problem on the team before he got here and isn't the reason we are winning now as the primary catalyst.
That all said, I am glad we traded nothing to get him here.

True that. True anything can happen in baseball, but the fact is he DID we us those games. Youk has been far been far better than anything we could have hoped Morel would have done, there's a lot of what ifs in baseball but the fact that our lineup is better with him is almost a foregone conclusion, he sees so many more pitches per at-bat, takes walks, and gives pitchers hell before they even see our best power hitters. (Dunn, Konerko, Rios, & AJ now apparently :lol

He does do that. I'd still like to have seen Beckham in the two hole and youkie/Dunn bat elsewhere in the lineup. Beckham seemed to have figured it out the 6-8 weeks prior to Youkie's arrival. Since Youkie got here, Beckham's bat has gone south again. Not as bad as April but still

I don't know what to do in that instance actually, I don't want to move Youk, but you are right Becks had a huge turnaround in the two hole. I do feel like Youk is a professional enough hitter, where he would be able to continue to give good at-bat whereever he is placed, but I feel like that is an experiment for another season. Don't fix something that ain't broke. (meaning the team is winning :lol: we all know Beckham is broken at the plate)
