True but you get what I'm saying,I just meant back then not so much now,I wouldn't think they would do that either especially since they have made that mistake once already.

Yep, I know what you mean.

Good game by Bulls. Deng was 14-19 for 40 points, Rose had 18 points and 13 assists, and Noah had another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, along with 4 assists, the 2nd most on the team. Do we still want to trade Deng and Noah for Carmelo Anthony?

By the way. So far this year, Melo is averaging 23.7 points (less than Deng by himself, tonight) 7 rebounds (less than Noah by himself tonight) and 3 assists (less than Noah by himself tonight) per game.

Consistency vs. Inconsistency

Realistically, How often can he do that? Thats the question.
Maybe Deng knows he's on the wire and is taking advantage to build his stock.
Carmelo Anthony (carmeloanthony) on Twitter Maybe Melo's trying to tell us something with his profile pic. The signature shoes are red and black. Not blue or orange. But maybe just a "coincidence".
Also tweeted "get ready....it's bully season" NUGGETS VIDEO: Carmelo Anthony draining threes.
I don't believe in coincidences.

Not taking anything away from Deng, he literally had a record breaking game tonight. But behind the scenes, I'm sure it's in his best interest and something dont smell right.

We still need a second option if we want to contend for the grand prize.
If we don't get one, we will be just another good team.

Yes, because this was one game that followed two utterly pitiful performances by Deng. Unlike you people, I'm not swayed by small sample sizes because, well, they're small sample sizes.

To wit. Are you people really going to start comparing players on per game rates and totals after only three or four games? Really? I mean, I took the Rose-Noah NBA Leading thread as more of a joke than anything, but are all of you this incompetent? It would appear so.

Um, ... I thought Deng was the 2nd option, behind Rose. How about Carlos Boozer? That sounds like a pretty good 2nd option to me. How good are the Bulls gonna be when he comes back?

one good thing to take from this game is... that deng is raising up his trade value.

One hopes..The Bulls are likely to take that as "We should keep Deng now that he's performing" instead of making a trade of say Deng, Gibson, picks for Carmelo.

Obviously we can't expect that from Deng probably ever again, he's only scored more than 32 one other time in his career. But he doesn't really need to do that, remember once Boozer gets back he's the third option. I'm happy if he can hit threes, provide around 15 points most nights, and go for 20+ on the nights when he gets hot.

As fun as it is to see Rose go for monster scoring nights hopefully the players around him can allow him to play like he did tonight more often. I thought he did a great job of getting the layups when the defense gave it to him but otherwise getting shots for other people.

Asik is going to be a player if he can work out his foul issues and learns to shoot free throws, he just gets hacked every time he goes for a layup. Thought he and Noah did well together, Noah wasn't at the level of the first two games but with everyone in foul trouble I think it's understandable he played a bit cautious to avoid fouling out.

On the downside Gibson is still a worry, his defensive rebounding was again sub-par. Brewer also only played 6 minutes, feels like if he's not healthy enough to play real minutes then why not rest him up for a bit.

if deng plays consistent threw out the season, and raises his stock value to the point that deng becomes attractive to the nuggets and they want to trade for him in a melo deal, but the bulls decide keep deng and not trade for melo, i will kick puppies and kill innocent animals.

I think the raising trade value thing people throw around is pretty much rubbish, except in rare cases like when a guy has been hurt and is now proving he's healthy again. Deng has been in the league 6 years now, he's not a mystery to anybody, I doubt teams are going to look at tonight's box score and say "Deng scored 40, we should trade for the guy!"

what if he becomes consistent?

i think when boozer get back he can become a better scorer.

Your absolutely right, Lefty. Let's look at Melo's career stats. 24.7 ppg, one point per game higher than his average this year (23.7), 3.1 assists per game, 0.1 assists higher than his average this year (3.0), 6.2 rebounds per game, 0.8 less than his average this year (7). Your right. the sample size is too small and tells you nothing. It's not even close! :)
