Hoiberg said coaches have to "stop bailing out players" for lack of defensive communication. Said players have to take ownership.

If we're to believe Hoiberg there, then the communication is definitely on the players and they're refusing to listen to the coaching and do anything about it. Time to get rid of those type of players then.

This may get worse before it gets better. When players and coaches are calling people out to the media things can go south. This team is not made for this coach.

I hope they hit the reset button in the offseason.

doesn't seem like this team is made for any coach considering thibs was having problems with them last year.

I am not just blaming just him but anyone take a gander of McDermotts "defense" in that game? He didn't even try to stay with his man defensively. He was awful in that game. Teh Warriors basically had a lay=up drill in especially the 2nd half. One of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen.

Maybe the worst game I have ever seen for Gasol. . The Bulls as a whole were awful in defensive rebounding but Gasol was the worst of the worst. How many back taps did the warriors have in that game from a guy with an aching back and pain etched on his face. 3 bulls and one warrior around the ball and the warrior pretty much always got his hands on it. Awful.

I'm not a big David Haugh fan, but he wrote the other day that firing Thibs, but keeping the team together as is sends a clear message that it's not the fault of the players. That was probably the only thing I've ever agreed with Haugh on.

Hmm, I just want to be clear.. so you think our problems are not the fault of the players?

I dont really think Rose lost that matchup so much his teammates could not hit shots. Curry has not own Rose either. No one really has.

I think management empowered the players. I think the players stroll through games as if they have won something. I think Fred was dealt a poor hand, trying to run his round offense (which he can't), with square players.

Okay, that makes more sense now as to what you originally said.

The strolling through games seemed to start last season with Gasol and then Rose taking his time and being cautious. So I don't know if that came to be because of the minutes issue between management and Thibs or what.

Just kinda shows management needs to get rid of these guys and probably the sooner the better.

I don't think the Bulls player are any more empowered than the rest of the league. This seems more like a situation where the team thinks it is better than it is and the reality is starting to sink in. For along time I think players/fans/management thought this team was better than it was. People are starting to realize they are not that good. So now the finger pointing starts.

It happens in all sports and we have seen multiple times. That is why I have been saying if you were going to remove thibs you needed to move on from most of these guys. The excuse was Thibs. Now they don't have that excuse. The excuse now will be the new coaching staff and the players will rebel against the simple fact thy are not as good as they think.

I don't expect this team to take accountability. Someone will fall on the sword and players will get replaced. The simple fact is they were never as good as many thought they were and they were no a title contender when many thought they were.

If we had current Jimmy on that 2010 or 2011 roster, who knows, maybe we look more like a contender. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...it's not happening with this group.

That's all we ever end up resorting to discussing. Though I think modern day Jimmy would be like 2010 Joe Johnson, who would fit on that team.

We didn't. If the Bulls had 9/10 Noah and Deng on this team they might be a contender. I think that is the point. They were always close, but never really got there. That tends to breed second guessing and back stabbing. It happens in a lot of sports.

For the most part JJ has been a far better shooter than Butler. I think JJ in his prime fits the Bulls better because of his shooting.

Yeah, thats why I hoped Joe Johnson signed here in 2010... I think we stood a much better chance vs Miami in the playoffs with him. And yeah we wouldn't have had the bench mob, but the free agents we signed instead of Joe Johnson were rather useless in the playoffs anyways (Gibson, Asik were the only ones who did much in the playoffs and they could have been had anyways, well Gibson already was on the team).

I really think Boozer and JJ would have put the Bulls over the top. I feel it would have happened if Atlanta did not panic and gave him the mega boat.

Absolutely. It is also apparent that Thibs got about every possible thing out of the hand that he was dealt. So they made him the scape goat and blamed him when they didn't win a championship. The arrogance and fucking stupidity of Reinny, Gar, and Paxson is off of the charts. Thibs was the problem, huh??? Hilarious.
