both Rose and Gasol deserve criticism...i don't think we'll win anything with Gasol as our starting center. his inability to guard the pick & roll will prove to be fatal for us.

Gasol was a good signing in terms of value but not in terms of landscape of the NBA. hes just too slow and lumbering. glad hes opting out and i hope they let him go else where and don't overpay to keep him

Gasol isn't a guy who elevates his game in the post season. Especially at this point in his career. When the defense tightens up and things get more physical, you could neutralize him. Especially if you have a guy with length who isn't a pushover like a Mozgov...

Gasol last year in the playoffs averaged 14 and 9. When things get mucked up Gasol largely disappears or becomes strictly a jump shooter. I still hope the Bulls are able to trade him before the deadline. It would be silly to lose him for nothing or sign him for more money next season.

To me it all depends on who they get back in a trade. Gasol has value as a rebounder, a dependable jump shooter and as a shot blocker. This means to me, that they should get a good value back for him if they expect to reasonably compete for the eastern division title. THis should come down to a decision of whether to trade him or Noah assuming Noah is healthy

If you look at Horford's game logs since Gasol came here, you can really attribute the problem to Gasol. Before Gasol was here, Horford had marginal games vs Chicago. There's even a 97-58 game blowout in the 2012-13 season vs Atlanta.

And Gasol is going to be a problem come playoff time. You think of matchups vs various teams, especially the ones that matter like Cleveland and its hard to find where Gasol fits in much.

Cleveland will play small ball often, and that alone eliminates Gasol.

Hoiberg has to play the matchups, but I often get the feel Gasol doesn't play nice if he's not starting and he's not playing his minutes. Management might have their hands dabbled in there as well.

Gasol wouldn't be so bad if we could somehow offset his horrific defense with some other player's great defense, but alas, we have no Draymond Green.

Agreed completely. Especially when it comes to Cleveland and Gasol not exactly playing nice if he's not getting his pudding. Maybe management is involved there too, maybe not. Either way, there's very little point to keeping a guy that becomes less of a factor in the playoffs that will opt out this off-season and want more money. I really hope the Bulls see it that way, but I have my concerns about that.
