The only reason why some guys here believe that Smith is better than Deng is because Smith is not a Bull.Everyone is better when you only watch his highlights or his good games. You judge Deng for his bad games too.But don't do the same with Smith because you don't even know when he has a bad game.Has Smith this year performed a comeback by himself @LAL when his team was trailing by 8 with 1:30 left?A game winner maybe?

Wrong. I believe Smith is better because (1) he is a better defensive player than Deng. (2) He is a better passer and ball-handler than Deng. (3) Smith is a better rebounder than Deng. Do you know how much help Deng has had this season? Rose, Noah, Boozer, Gibson, Watson, Brewer. Do you know how much help Smith has had defensively- Zaza Pachulia is their starting center yet the Hawks are only allowing 1 more point as a team per-possession than the Bulls. Deng is a better shooter but that is pretty much as far as it goes. Smith has played a lot more games and is the more efficient and productive player.

Josh Smith > Luol Deng. And it has nothing to do with highlight dunks.

PS- The Bulls should have lost that game to the Lakers. Luol Deng traveled and it wasn't called. And he committed another foul that wasn't called, too.

Can't argue more about Smith and Deng.I love them both. But if I had to choose one it would be Deng and not because he is a Bull.Deng is a player that can't be described only by stats. Is there a stat that shows how many turnovers do guys when Deng guarding them?He is a guy who plays 40 minutes and give 110% in every game. And I can say he is pretty clutch player too.He makes big plays when no many guys can do it.

A stat that shows those pretty well are:

Smith:
1.4 steals per-game.
2.1 blocks per-game
(in even less minutes than Deng per-game).

Deng:
1.2 steals per-game.
0.7 blocks per-game.

None of what you just said was true.

Josh Smith:

played more games than Deng.

helped his team defensively more than Deng.

helped his team on the boards more than Deng.

helped his team offensively more than Deng.

Josh Smith has never been an all-star either and Josh Smith > Luol Deng.

GTFO! stop sucking Smith's nuts DengBang>Smith

No.Turnovers can be to do a bad pass,to do an off foul,to travel,to spend all 24 seconds of your offense,to lose the ball by someone who comes to support Deng and to lose the ball by Deng.If you find a stat like this how many TOs you force per game I am sure Deng will be top5 in the league. He is doing all the minor but important things perfect. The perfect glue guy in a team.

#1 in steals is Rubio and he is the laziest defender ever. That make me think that top Europeans defenders if they were playing in the NBA would do 20 steals/game.Rubio was one of the worst defenders here.

GTFO! stop sucking Smith's nuts DengBang>Smith

I'm sucking Smith's nuts yet you call Luol "Dengbang." I've been watching the guy since his rookie year and have stuck by him always. The only things Deng does better than Smith are shooting and perimeter defense. Smith is better in every other category and hasn't missed time this year. Smith and Rondo deserved to be all-stars much more than Deng.

Smith forces more turnovers than Deng. I could have at least respected an argument than Deng forces more bad shots than Smith. But you don't know enough about the game of basketball to even make such an argument.

And Ricky Rubio is a very good defender. You obviously haven't watched him this year altering shots with his length and quick reactions.

you need to watch young play

smith > young

and i would say smith is more athletic also

Rip Hamilton > both of them so it is all irrelevant. The Bulls are doing what they can to make sure he is healthy for the playoffs and that's all what matters.

If you are going to make this about YT highlights, Smith will win every time.

And most NBA players are assholes. Nick Young chucks them up there about as much as Smith does.

That was not my point.Just wanted to show him that Nick Young scored 30+ points twice last year against the Heat. And obviously he would be a great improvement in Korver's place in the roster.

I didn't say that he is the best SG or sth.Highlights mean nothing. He has some crappy nights. But he is a 18ppg player.Who's tired of losing and he is in the last year of his contract if i remember well so they may be interested in trading him. They will finish last with or without him.lol

I've just sort of scanned the thread, but I find it funny that Rami is so confident that Josh Smith, who takes bad shots, also plays w/ an all-star, is over-rated defensively, is better than Lu, who plays more minutes than pretty much anybody, plays hurt, is the 2nd option on offense and is RELIED on for that, is the best defender on a defensive team, and is on the Bulls.

I'll take Taj over Josh Smith.

Well, I'm glad you aren't sitting where Gar Forman is. I wouldn't trade Luol Deng for Josh Smith but I wouldn't think twice about sending Taj packing for Smith.
