Good win though. I hope they start fast vs ATL and dont take their foot off the gas tomorrow. Rack up wins now and hopefully get rest before the playoffs.

I was always a firm believer that depth always wins but that didn't help us last year. And it's not like I feel like we can't win with this group we have but WR would need to be healthy across the board and would need Boozer to show up every night. We still need another scorer because we still have far too many bucketless stretches with Rose out. Brutal stretches. Too many times our starting frontcourt is on the bench late in games.

Howard is a once a generation talent. A 1 man defense. Imagine what he could do with the best PG and a defensive genius like Thibs.

Ok, well getting another scorer and a Superstar are different to me. There were a lot of factors that went into the Bulls not winning it all and not having a superstar wasn't one of them to me. Having a team that can play well together is what wins. If you happen to have a superstar than great, but if you have a lot of good players like Dallas, then you can win a championship.

Dwight Howard is a great athlete, he is working on his offensive games, and making great strides in that department. I wouldn't call him a once in a generation talent, maybe athlete, but not talent. But that's just how I see him. He is just dominating a game short of talented Centers to me.

Yeah I'd like to think we come out and stomp on their throats early, considering how much extra fatigue the Hawks have on their bodies right now this should should be another win for the Bulls.

My sentiments exactly. Everyone is so quick to tear the team apart when we were very close to championship success in year 1. That was with 8 new players, a new coaching staff, & 2 integral parts of the team out for a combined 2/3rds of the year. We still finished #1 overall despite that & really were only a couple stretches away from having the upper-hand & winning that Miami series. It came down to experience closing out games, & both Wade & Lebron had been there & succeeded before to get to the big show.

I take nothing away from Miami. They are a great team. However, the difference between them & us is not the size of the Grand Canyon. It's more like a medium-sized pothole, and with Rose's improvement, the addition of Rip, & a fully healthy roster, I feel like the gap has closed even more. The first test comes January 29th.

This isn't true. First of all, over the course of the season, the Bulls were much better at closing out games than the Heat were. Secondly, if you don't think having James and Wade wasn't a huge advantage, you're kidding yourself. They're both great perimeter defenders. They're a combination that makes Rose work a lot harder than he has to against other teams. They make it problematic if you're overreliant on Rose. Effectively, there was a superstar vice. The other issue is that, Rose, as PG, is farther from the basket than James and Wade. Just in general, he has to do more work to get his points. If you add Howard, you put another elite player on the floor and one who is closer to the basket than James and Wade.

Having said that, there were a couple of variables that worked against the Bulls. A big one was that the Bulls were playing 4 on 5 offensively with Bogans. The fact that the Bulls won 60 games with that lineup is amazing. But it definitely hurt against Miami. Also, Korver going cold during that series didn't help, and neither did Boozer's no show. If any of those things don't happen, maybe Chicago wins and Rose being put in a superstar vice isn't as crucial. But the thing is, 3 point shooting is streaky. And you don't have to worry about Howard no showing as much as you do Boozer.
