Well said. And I agree for the most part, though I do feel people pre-maturely crown teams as champs when they haven't really proven it yet. I feel going through the playoff run last season & losing to Miami the way we did will help us improve the way we approach them if we face them again in the post-season. I'm not going to sit here & say we have no shot at beating Miami because I don't feel that's the case at all. Maybe that make me a homer, maybe not, but completely dismissing our chances (like some posters & the majority of "experts" do) simply because we don't have 2 superstars seems equally as ignorant to me.

Oh we certainly have a chance, but certain players on this team need to grow and produce and we're not seeing that right now. The season is long and if we have Boozer and Noah playing at a high level come playoff time, then I think we can move the discussion, but as of right now we're seeing a lot of the same play from them that was blamed on injury in the playoffs last year this year when they are supposedly 100% healthy.

A lot of people want to compare losing to Miami like Jordan and the Bulls losing to Detroit before taking the next step and going to the Finals. Perhaps it is. The thing is, Jordan and the Bulls were never a #1 seed until 1991, when they finally got over the hump and beat Detroit. And not only did the Bulls grow (Pippen and Grant continued to improve and the role players really stepped up) but also Detroit got older. Miami is in their prime right now and coming out of the gate they looked hungry.

Or the Hawks turned into chuckers...The D wasn't that good. How many wide open 3's did Joe Johnson miss?

The Hawks missed 14 shots in the paint, partially due to us having 8 blocks [again, good D]. When you can't get things going in the paint, teams tend to start shooting more. And I think the Hawks had 3 24 second violations and a few possessions that were near 24 second violations that led to shots being chucked. That's good D too.

Sure, they missed open jumpers. But so does every team in every game.

Still a good game overall on D.

The Hawks quit attacking the paint early in the 2nd. For no real reason. Although I'm not surprised. They are one of the dumbest teams in basketball. It wasn't the D. The Hawks are just dumb.

I'll give you that. They did go away from the paint in the second half.. which helped a lot.

This season is a tough one to gauge, especially in the early going. With the lack of training camp & compressed schedule, most teams are already struggling right now. NY, LAL, the Clips (who lots of people began crowning division champs before they even practiced together), Boston, Dallas, & San Antonio are all at .500 or just below right now. Even teams with the best records like us, Miami, & OKC have struggled against "inferior" teams but still came away with the victory. There has never been a season like this one in the history of the NBA. It is going to test the will & determination of every player on every team.

People seem to forget that we struggled early on last season as well. Injuries played a big part but we were not a dominate team until around the all-star break. We have an entirely new SG to get into the mix & Noah & Boozer played only maybe 30 or so games together last year, so there is definite room & need for improvement there. I feel there will be as the season progresses & the iron will & un-earthly skill of D Rose continues to grow & grow with every W.

I see your point and will agree, there was bound to be alot of mess in the league to begin the season due to the lockout. Alot of teams still need to find an identity. That said, I thought we were one of the teams that wouldnt have that much struggle as we practically have the same team. As I have said elsewhere, We'll have to wait and see what happens. Do I hope things get better? Yep. Do I hope Noah and Boozer step up their play and produce on a consistency? Yep. Will they have nights they're in foul trouble? Yep. That stuff will certainly happen, but on nights they're not in foul trouble they need to find a way to keep themselves out there on the floor unless the game is a complete blowout in favor of the Bulls.

also, lol@people who think teams like miami are unbeatable

yes miami is a damn good team this year

cool story..but that doesnt mean they wont struggle at points this year..hell wade's bailed them out a couple of times this year

the bulls are in a relatively good spot though it is early and there are certainly things that could be worked on

rose is a beast, no question there
