Marlon Byrd is (still) the best overall player on this team.

I had no idea Carlos Lee's average was so low this year. Didn't expect him to be an all-star, but .205 is :turrible: for him.

If I remember right, it's similar to his start last season...no roids = no effectiveness for him.

but but but Pena has fewer ABs!

the point is, why sign him to a 1 year deal at 10 million, 5 this year and 5 next year in a non contending year when the cubs will be going after pujols or fielder or another big FA. just no point to the signing. As I stated before there was rumors of him signing with the cubs i was scared to death that Kenny was going to sign Pena. CO says his BABIP wont be the same this year which may be true, but I highly doubt that when all the stats are used that he will be drastically better than last year.

We had to get a gold glove calibur guy at 1st...so Starlin doesn't end up w/ 48 errors on the season.

i know starlin is raw at SS but i just hope fans realize his age and he has plenty of time to get better.

I hated the Carlos Pena signing when it happened and he's been just as bad as I thought he would be offensively. It's still early but man...

First off, I wasn't a huge fan of the $$$ we gave him...

Secondly, that wasn't his point...

But regardless, signing him was a PR move anyway. Gotta make fans think we're pretending to contend. His BABIP will go up, as will his average, but he's probably a .250 hitter at best.
