Hardest 3 outs in baseball is the last 3...why using the BEST RP which is marmol...

That's not true at all. If the last 3 hitters are the 7-8-9 hitters, that is a lot easier than facing the 3-4-5 hitters.

Ask CHW if they would love to have Marmol as there closer right now?

I'm sure they would. What team wouldn't want him on their team. Just saying that he would be more effective as a set up guy.

Why do you think TEX kept Feliz as CL over making him SP. Having dominating CL is very important. Brenly has said tons how winning a game for 8 innings then blowing it in the 9th hurts a team moral more then anything. 9th inning even if 7-8-9 is the toughest 3 outs in any baseball game.

It's a hell of a lot easier to come into a game with no one on than come in with the bases loaded. The closer shouldn't be your best reliever.

Can we change ur name to "Captain I Don't Know Baseball"? Not 1 team in MLB history puts there best RP as 7th or 8th inning guy. They make sure they get the last 3 outs of every game they pitch

No it isn't! I'm not saying the last 3 outs aren't important, and sometimes they are the most important outs, but that doesn't mean they always are.

I agree, blowing a game in the 9th is bad for moral(duh). That's why we should have a good RP there, like Woody.

Let me ask you this... why is it so important to have your best reliever as your closer? Why do you have to have a dominate CL?

Wow, you are Special person. So you are saying Mariano Rivera shouldn't be the Yankees closer because in your opinion, the closer should not be your best reliever? Your best reliever should be your closer, period.

Have you not watch any White Sox games this year? They have blown 4 games already in the 9th. Now if they dont make playoffs by 1 game where do you think the blame will go to?

While this may be true, it's a moot point. The closer is very important and has to be counted on to come into a game and finish it out with a win. When they come in, the game is close and it's up to them to get it done. That's why they need to be the best.

But, guys like Trevor Hoffman, Mariano Rivera and Billy Wagner must not have been the best RP on their team...

1990 Reds. Rob Dibble was the best reliever on that team. He wasn't the closer. 2007 AND 2008 Cubs. Marms was the best reliever but he wasn't our closer. I can go on and on and on.

CIN had 3 closers..Lou just used who he wanted that day....Wood was a better RP back then cause Marmol was a young Player who just started pitching.

Sounds like you are making excuses. The Cubs basically have 3 closers. We have 3 guys who can be closers. I'd much rather see Marmol in the set up role, he can strand runners. It doesn't matter who the closer is. They are going to blow roughly the same amount of saves.
