That's all he is, is a spark. You have your 5 best hitters in the top 5 spots. Darwin Barney is not a top 5 hitter. Plain and simple. Do YOU understand baseball?

I like the insurance runs, but Marmol coming in with a save oppurtunity would be better for my fantasy. Kind of wish it was still 8-5.

Byrd i agree is not a 3 hole hitter. Yes Castro is a perfect number 2 but since Cubs have no other option for leadoff, Castro is the best option. Barney is a very good number 2 hole hitter. Wont strike out. Will take pitches. Not afraid to be at 2 strikes. Im not a fan of Fuku in the 1 hole at all. When he does play he should be a 8 hole hitter.

See. This right here makes you look stupid. Fukudome gets on base more than anyone else on this team. That's why you have him leadoff, because that's the leadoff hitter's job--to get on base. This is a very simple concept.

Makes me want to smack myself sometimes when I get disappointed when the Cubs do something like score more insurance runs. Or earlier when I wanted the White Sox to not blow the game (I have Thornton). Or rooting for the Yankees to score because I have 3 on my team.

OBP is important for leadoff but he cant steal any bases. Castro is proving he can. So Castro 1, Barney 2 helps the team more then Fuku 1....Fuku needs to bat 8th so he on base in front of pitcher so they can bunt him over since he cant steal.

This 8th inning should prove how Castro 1 is better then Fuku. If Fuku would have gotten on like Castro did he wouldnt have stolen base. Then Barney hit would had just 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd....

The leadoff hitter needs at least a reasonable average (.280+) and some speed. I like Fuk in the 5 spot. He has actually hit well in that spot. Why take Castro away from the 1 spot right now? In his four games, all games he had multiple hits.

So the **** what if Fuku can't steal? So what? Castro doesn't have enough to make up with his legs to warrant batting lead off.
Batting Fuku 8th is Special person. You want players to get on base, so you can score runs. You want your player who gets on the most to have as many opportunities to do that. He won't get those opportunities batting 8th.
