so are the indians tougher than the Giants and Dodgers you think? Barely followed baseball this year.
I remember when...
A mod said I should hold my horses on Russell and Contreras coming up to the bigs. I remember getting a lot of grief when I thought Kyle reminded me of Maddux. I remember when the Sox had a much better rotation then the Cubs. I remember when I said the Cubs were better off trading Castro and getting a bunch of grief. I remember when I got a whole bunch of shit for saying that Maddon was worth at least 5 more wins. I remember when Omelet thought Bryant sucked. I remember when Sox fans thought their rebuild was better than the Cubs. I remember when the idiots gave me a hard time when I said the Cubs would compete last year, let alone this year. Most of all, I remember when Crys banned me from the Sox forum for saying that the Cubs were a better team than the Sox!
Fuckin DBags!

No, Theo didnt push for him to go to the AFL. Schwarber called him and asked if he could do this because he was cleared on Monday without the Cubs doing it. Schwarber is pushing to get on the roster. Theo and them are still being stand offish until they see how he is in the league. Also, if we do make the World Series, I want Szczur on the roster considering Andrew Miller is killing everyone. I highly doubt the Cubs start Schwarber as a DH and you are sticking him in a PH role with 6 months of rust to knock off in what? A week? So, yes, I think this is a long shot and I think this is Schwarber trying to force a hand.
It'll be interesting how Kershaw is viewed after this. He pitched well this offseason but still came up short. Media is gonna have to put the blame on someone. Would be a shame if they dump it on him.
In a series like this, it's unfair to heap it on Kersh. He didn't have his curveball. TBT, overall he had the same stuff tonight as game 3. But when you are playing against one of the best offensive teams in baseball...if you do not have your full tool bag going for you in your second outing against the team that saw you just a few days ago, bats will find balls.

This is just such an unbelievable feeling! One question I have is how many people experienced traumatic deja vu when that foul ball went down the left field line on that Chapman pitch? I can't believe the shows aren't talking about that.
Last post in this thread.... I remember 1984 when I was 14 rushing home from school to watch the Cubs lose, Steve Garvey coming over from the Dodgers to beat us.
I remember 1989, and having to watch Will Clark play better then he ever has help the Giants beat us.
I remember 1998, getting swept by the Braves. One of our own, Greg Maddux getting the win on a sweep.
I remember 2003. Well, should I say anymore than it wasn't Bartman's fault.
I remember 2007, 2008, all the money spent, all the hype, all the choke. swept both times in the 1st round.
And now. 2016. The Cubs, blew it up, did it right, drafted well, and picked up the few pieces to make this a whole team. A whole team that is young. I remember before the All Star break. I thought this was my fathers cubs. " OMG are we going to fall apart again? Like so often in the past?" Well no, this Cubs team is not your fathers cubs.
The best thing that could ever happened was this team was purchased by an owner that is a fan. The Rickett's family then hired, The Man, Theo Epstein, and has built a team, that finally has gotten us to the promise land. The World Series.
So I would like to thank the Rickett's family for finally making Cub fans relevant. I as a fan have been watching losing for more then 30 yrs. After 2008, I actually gave up on them. I was so disgruntled, I wasn't sure I would ever come back. Luckily I did.
Thank you Rickett's family. Thank you.
Hendricks didn't get part of the co-mvp of the nlcs but probably should have.
Game 2 - 5.1 IP, 3 hits, 4 bb, 5 k's 1 ER
Game 6 - 7.1 IP, 2 hits, 0 bb, 6 k's, 0 ER
compared to Lester's
Game 1 - 6 IP, 4 hits, 1 bb, 3 k's, 1 ER
Game 5 - 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 bb, 6 k's, 1 ER
Only pitched one fewer out, gave up 4 fewer hits, 2 more walks, had 2 more K's and 1 fewer run.
I'm 37 today (well technically yesterday, 10/22). That series is to this day, is tied with the 06 Super Bowl as the MOST agonizing sports losses of my lifetime, in my eyes.I remember 1989, and having to watch Will Clark play better then he ever has help the Giants beat us.
Some people just need everyone to know they were right. You didnt shock the world with that post.
