On a nite where the back end shouldnt have to be in Grabow fucks it up.....how long before they eat his contract?
It would but his bat doesn't hold up as well from second base. He is more valuable from the SS position.
Amazing how bad the back end of the bullpen for the cubs is.....after the big 3 its scary as hell...Mateo done decent job but still scary
The "Big 3" you are referring to is synonymous with the back end. Think you mean the front end is .
I've heard that article several times, and I just don't get it. If you put Barney at SS, and his defense was better than Castro's, and moved Castro to short where he improved his defense, how does it affect the value in a negative way? I mean, I guess I understand how it affects the player's value, but it would improve the value to the team, no?

It would improve the team I suppose. It would improve Barneys value more than it would hurt Castros. Not sure of Barneys defense at SS.
The reason I wouldn't do it is because Barney is not a viable starter going forward.
That's what everyone has been saying, except I think everyone underestimates him, at least to an extent.

Woody makes me happy
His ops has dropped below 800 already. His k's will go up. His walks down. He just isn't a good bat. Likely his glove seems to be good but really he is Theriot-lite.
Thus my Fontenot comparison earlier - haha
