Am I the only one that finds these post win interviews with Sarah Kustok to be uncomfortable to watch? I find myself turning the sound down, then just watching her..I mean she's definitely hot, but is clueless about hockey.

What a game... Hawks completely dominated the last 40 minutes. They flustered the Wings deep in their own zone and just didn't let Detroit have any momentum or flow.

4 straight wins. One against the top team in the east and back to back wins over the current #1 and #4 western seeds. Hugely impressive.

Now if they could just solve Nashville.

Corey Crawford continuing to rediscover his form from 2010-11 is the best thing that can happen to this team.

It would be nice to keep this thing going awhile...they wont go 9-0 to match the loss streak but 6 of 7 or 7 of 8 stretch would go a long way to getting them a decent seed. I still dont see them as a Cup contender but once you get past the first round...if you got a hot goalie...get a few bounces...you never know what'll happen.

Lets just hope Bowman doesnt see this stretch and think we dont need an upgrade

IF we want to be serious stanley cup contenders we need:

2nd line center
top 4 dman

No chance of the Hawks getting anything higher than the 4th seed, unfortunately. Personally, I wouldn't mind if they end up in the 6 or 7 spot. That'll pit them against the 2 or 3 seed, which would most likely be San Jose or Vancouver. Getting into 4 or 5 probably means Nashville or St. Louis. I'd hate to see either one of their goalies in the postseason.

I believe the most dangerous forward tonight for the Hawks was Kane. I think its time to move him back to center on the second line...even when Toews gets back. I have no idea why he prefers wing...it seems he's always got open ice at center plus it much less physical. If nothing else, it fills one of the holes on this team.

I still see it as a motivation thing.

They can hang with anyone, but whether or not they have it in them to do it for 7 games is a whole other thing.
  • They went to the very last game of the season to even make the playoffs and lost to a very determined Detroit team and snuck in with a miracle win by the Wild.
  • Then, they get in, get embarrassed and pushed to the very brink against Vancouver before they turned it on. Toews scores at the last minute to tie the game and force OT in game 7.
  • Most recently, they rode their losing streak to just about the lowest a team can get. 9 games of terrible hockey, fans doubting a proven coach and various players. Finally they snap out of it.

Things only have gotten better when these Hawks hit rock bottom.

Besides not being nearly as talented and deep as the championship team, this team just isn't as hungry as that team. They know they're good but they take shifts and nights off and when other teams capitalize and it's not a life or death game- it's hard to come back. I'm not at all making an excuse for this kind of play... I'm just calling it like I see it.

Push comes to shove, the Hawks can hang with just about anyone in the west. But there's no way they're going to be able to wait for that push to come like they did last year against Vancouver. There's a reason why 0-3 comebacks are rare.

Great teams don't get down 0-3.
