Puckdrop - 7:00 p.m.
TV - CSN Chicago
Radio - WGN AM 720

Five of the last six Stanley Cups have been won by the two teams facing off at the United Center tonight. The Hawks have struggled on the road this season (just 1-4-0) but they've been excellent back at home, winning five of their six games this season. That's a trend that should continue tonight.

LET'S GO HAWKS!!

P.S. If you look at the NHL standings right now, the top five teams are all from the Central Division. The Blackhawks aren't one of them. I know it's early, but is there any question about which division in the NHL is going to be the best this season?

Hawks on pace for 90 points (.545) this season. That puts them 6th in the division. 5th worst in the division is Winnipeg projected at 103 points (.625).

Insane.

When Keith gets back it'd be pretty cool if they can go on one of those 8-0-1 runs. They may need a few of them to keep pace in that insane division.

Big news even before the morning skate:

Marko Dano called up.
Bryan Bickell sent down.

Could mean that Hossa, who didn't finish the last game with a lower-body injury, is not going to play tonight. Dano could be on that top line in his place.

What, I got sent down. It's over. RIP BIGFOOT

Will say I'm excited to see what Dano can bring, even though we lost against the wild was encouraged by the play from some of the younger guys. Really impressed with Gus, and hope to see more of him instead of Derpblad.

Don't fret, there's plenty of wooded areas around Rockford for you to lurk around in.

Looking forward to seeing Dano play.

Just win.

I wonder if there was any friction between Stan and Q regarding the Bickel move.

Lines at the morning skate:

Panarin-Toews-Garbutt
Teravainen-Anisimov-Kane
Dano-Kero-Hartman
Desjardins-Kruger-Shaw

Certainly appears that Hossa is out tonight.

Lordy, that's a lot of youth out there. You throw in Gustafsson, TVR and Svedberg that's 9 guys in the lineup 24 & under. Hawks doing what they usually do....retooling for a year. That's fine by me. I have no problem with the bi-yearly Cup thing.

Teuvo and Kane together...so much playmaking. Hoping that 3rd line shows some promise. Lots of potential.

Insane.

The great Jonathan Toews on pace for 15g in regulation
The amazing Marian Hossa on pace for 7g in regulation

Time for Hossa to have his "lower body injury" and miss a few weeks

Anyone have an injury update on Hoss? I didn't notice an injury during the last game but I know he wasn't out there for the end of it.

Lower body, day-to-day. Q said this morning he was "hopeful" that Q would play on Wednesday.
