****.

Well, if anybody is gonna give up 3 goals in a period to us, it would be Luongo. Amazed that Crawf has been hammered like this (though I think the 3rd goal was questionable to say the least).

undisciplined hockey is bad hockey

Yeah.

But I want to see it as undisciplined as possible in this 3rd period.

Get Crawford out of there and play dirty.

They were getting beat this bad when these two had the great 3rd period line brawls a few years back. I want to see that again. The Hawks need to show everyone that they give a shit.

So you are saying - if you can't win the game- then win the fights... now that is true Norris Division type thinking.

Which happens to be something I can relate to (as a fan). Why not? There doesn't appear to be anything else going on.

Otoh if something else does go on -- interestingly enough apparently it can cause riots in Vancouver. . .

Completely pathetic outing. Nobody gave a shit and they let the Canucks walk all over them. Tougher Hawks team my ass.

Defense was horrible. O'Donnell had the puck at his feet more than on his stick. Seabrook just looked tired the whole time (with 60 minutes played in the last 2 games... that's understandable) and Hjalmarsson was as invisible as a d-man can be. I like Lepisto's game.

4th line played well (I like Kruger), but failed to send any messages or set any kind of pace. 3rd line... yuck. Hossa and Kane had some jump. Toews and Brunette worked hard and Toews singlehandedly was trying to make things happen in the 3rd, but he can't do it all alone.

And I'll slap anyone says the Hawks have too much talent for their power-play to be this bad all year. That's garbage and so is their power-play.

Get over the hate for them tonight. They're still a damn good team.

No Burrows or Salo & their PP scores 5 goals.

Watching the game, it seemed to me that the rivalry got in the hawks heads too much instead of playing the hockey they know how to play. The Canucks did a great job of staying focused on the task at hand, which was winning the hockey game. The Blackhawks on the other hand seemed more interested in punishing the Canucks physically and that played right into what the Canucks wanted. We weren't focused; and not only did that show with the outrageous number of penalties, but also with our penalty kill which has been one of our strengths so far this year. Sure we won fights, congrats.. we lost freaking 6 to 2. It was embarrassing. We need to get back to playing Blackhawk's hockey and not worrying about "getting even" with teams from last year. This is a brand new year with a redesigned team poised for a chance at another stanley cup, if we can keep our heads, and play more like a team instead of as selfish individuals as I saw yesterday.

I was at the game last night. Crowd was electric. Carcillo did his job getting the crowd back into the game with his fight when needed. Mayers did his best as well.

The special teams was terrible last night and a HUGE reason why the Hawks lost. Gave up 5 PP goals and our PP was terrible as well. A lot of the penalties were undisciplined and just plain dumb by the Hawks.

I thought the only player who really played well last night was Kruger. He was fearless going into the corner and to the net to follow up rebounds. Was happy with his game.

Big game Tuesday. First time the Blackhawks will really have to bounce back from a very poor game this season.

Did they seem as uninterested in person as they did on TV? The Canucks flat out brought it to them and the Hawks didn't match it.

Honestly in a way, yes.

The Blackhawks seemed to get frustrated. A lot of that frustration led to penalties.

The Blackhawks got very, very few quality chances. Weren't winning board battles and just weren't making smart moves. Almost looked like certain players were skating in quicksand.

Tuesday is going to be a big test. Blues have a new coach behind the bench so we all know they are going to come ready to play.

Yeah, the schedule coming up is pretty rough. Blues should have some jump and they're always a hard game regardless.

Particularly worried about the 2 against the Oilers. They had the Hawks number at this time last year and they're on quite a tear.

Ok, judging from this drill the #Blackhawks lines are: 10-19-67, 13-88-81, 85-36-15, 25-16-22 ... Bickell odd man out so far.

Olesz, Bolland and Brunette taking a drill together too. #Blackhawks
5 minutes ago

Seabrook and Keith together for a drill against fourth line of Stalberg, Kruger, Mayers for #Blackhawks
6 minutes ago

New first line of Sharp, Toews, Frolik for #Blackhawks

The **** is Monty? Enough is enough with SOD.

I'm all for bringing back the original 4th line of Stalberg Kruger and Mayers. Put Carcillo back with Kane and Hossa. I like that.

Keith is going to go on Tuesday?

Yes, he is "optimistic" about playing

That would be great if Keith is going Tuesday.

I still think Brunette is a perfect fit for Hossa/Kane - those two can basically do it on their own. Also, Kane pulls up at the blueline and lets the play catch up to him - and we all know Brunette needs to catch up.

I'd like to see Sharp/Toews - someone. Hossa/Kane - someone. If anyone were to move up from the 3rd line I would like to see it be Frolik.

What about a third line of Carcillo/Bolland/Bickell?

I'll propose these lines...

Frolik/Toews/Sharp
Brunette/Kane/Hossa
Carcillo/Bolland/Bickell
Stalberg/Kruger/Mayers

thoughts?

I dont mind those lines

Stal/Kruger/Mayers has potential to be a awesome scoring/gritty 4th line

Carcillo/bolland/bickell is iffy for me...carcillo will have to play defense

brunette/kane/hossa i like alot...let kane and hossa deke around with the puck and move it around and put brunette by the net

toews/sharp makes that 1st line automatically dirty

I actually think Carcillo has been playing some solid defense. He is strong on the boards and he is an absolute pest. Have to admit I think he is one of the better back checking Blackhawks at times this year. Carcillo loves some stick work (as does Bolland), and top lines absolutely hate that (just look at Kane last night facing Kesler).

Toews just needs a lot more help than Brunette/Stalberg. Toews has never been the type of player to do it on his own.

I agree he has been playing Defense, but remember that Q puts this line out against the other team's #1 line...not the 3rd/4th line carcillo has been playing

agree with toews...i love stalberg and brunette, but thats not enough help for toews

I think Brunette is the weak link on those lines. I would leave Carcillo with Kane/Hossa -although if he starts flipping out again, then he has decided not to play hockey on a given night, and there needs to be another slot for him to drop him to (during the game) - juggling lines on the fly if you will (4th line - move Stalberg during the game).

I don't really like Brunette on the 3rd line, but better than on a lone with Kane and Hossa, the reason being that I wouldn't have thought that Sharp and Toews should have had a problem -so then what could it have become from a line perspective? The obvious answer would be the new addition to that line (whereas you replaced Kane's style of play with Brunette's -and it doesn't work). In theory you have to find someone that is closer to Kane's style (high powered, instead of plodding positional shooter type guy) in order to make the combination of Sharp/Toews/(TBD) work.

That isn't to say take Kane away from center - it does, though mean that there is that sort of hole on one of the top 2 lines.

PP-wise- well open up a bag of worms .... it might also be coaching for all I know (however - too, don't expect to give up 5 pp goals and win very often -so specialty teams can kill a game).
