Well, there goes Hoss' Rocket Richard trophy... Also, there goes his Selke, Masterson, and probably a Vezina too.
Anyone know wtf happened to Hoss?
This seems to be becoming our norm.... one of our skaters gets hurt on a play no one notices and then Edzo tells me they are done for the night in between 2 of Foley's announcements about who is battling cancer.
It would be a rare broadcast that you'd get any info from Pat and Eddy, they're too busy working in the tree turdy tree's, soft serve ice cream, the wife's cookies and Eddies hair transplants to cover the game. Hell half of the time a player goes to the box they don't bother to say what it was for.
Q said upper body, day to day after the game.
Was anyone else certain that the Hawks were going to tie that game up? Just didn't seem like Ottawa had enough to maintain that lead, especially after the Hawks made it 4-3.
Another game with a Panarin one-timer from the left circle. And another game where I don't know how he does it.
Also another game where Hinostroza and Hartman had solid nights. I think we were all in agreement that the Hawks needed some more depth at forward behind the usual guys. I wouldn't say that the depth is as strong as in the Cup seasons, but those two have helped close the gap in a huge way.
Toes missed a scoring chance with a mostly open net...10.5 mil, uh huh
Then he go super pissed.... I think he is well aware his scoring is not good enough.... I am betting it is contributing to his struggles.
When you try too hard to score I think it will actually be worse.... I've never played hockey, but I kind of find it perhaps analogous to a QB in football trying too hard to make all the throws and be the gunslinger.... you start trying to force things and you set yourself up to fail.

So your saying Toews=Cutler?
I was just going to ask everyone where those "we don't need Crow we have Darling" posts have gone? It's interesting to you bring up how the defense shits the bed for Darling. I mean. The defense has never shit the bed for Crow, or had him bail them out... ever. Crow sucks, Give Darling 4mil drop Crow... /sarcasm.IMO if Crow is in goal we win that game.... Darling keeps giving up 4 goal games.... and lately hes been giving up 1-2 soft ones a night....
Defense has also let Darling down at times, so I am not putting it 100% on him, but of the last 4 games.... 3 of them Darling gave up 4 goals.... and I would say of those 12 goals there were 4-6 that Crow probably stops.... and if Darling is on he stops them too.... I just think Darling gotta be getting tired.
You cannot keep giving up 4 goals a game and think you will keep winning, need to balance things out.

To be fair I didn't see anyone really harping on the idea of dropping Crow and rolling with just Darling.... this might have been a good litmus test for Darling so the market on him don't explode.... I think he is valuable, but at least right now he is not 6M starter worthy.
What's unfortunate for Darling is that the Hawks are so cash-strapped because of the damn salary cap that they really can't afford to pay him his worth. Either he re-signs in Chicago this summer and is criminally underpaid, or he plays somewhere else.

Where were you several games ago when he was being talked about as the heir apparent and it'd be so great to roll with him instead of over priced Crow... He's a great backup goalie, and I like him a lot, especially the Vegas story from last year. But that's what he is, a great BACKUP goalie. One who can come in fresh and absolutely steal games. He can't take a full workload like Crow can. And sure Crow has his up's and downs but the drop off Darling has shown just goes to show hard hard it is to be a full time goalie.
I've been around.... I recall it being discussed if Darling could make Crow expendable.... maybe 1 or 2 people posited the idea.... I am not recalling any specific poster who argued hard that Darling was the heir and Crow should go without a doubt. Can you point me to even 1 poster who made at least 2 posts expressing such an argument?
I know the idea was out there, but I think you are overblowing it like a dozen posters were clammoring to trade Crow and go with Darling as the starter forever.
Well... I mean... A dozen would make every poster on here... but I digress.
It's been a common theme on here for years that Crow is over rated and whoever the back up is should be the full timer. And to see it still comes up even after the second cup of his... it's just mind boggling, whether it's 2 or 12 people.
I am with you on disagreeing with the sentiment... but I don't think it is a commonly held position by many CCS Hawks fans.
For a while Bigfoot thought Crow sucked cause he kept giving up alot of goals in NHL 15... don't pay attention to Bigfoot.
